Frameshift Interdictor - anyone using A1 just fine?

New to Vulture and the power management is really juggling lots of things to squeeze items in, prioritize stuff to turn off, etc.

Basic question - I'd prefer to use A1 Frameshift interdictor to save power vs the A2

Only used A4 so far on my Asp. I know vaguely that both class and grade helps interdiction success and range. But not sure whether A grade is for range, or for success.

I can live with A1 if it is just shorter range. But if it lowers success by good deal, then will have to figure out what to toss in order to squeeze in an A2

Anyone with experience using A1 v A2?

Ello there CMDR Jacozilla!
I always use an A1 and never fail. IDK if its easier to do from farther back or if you just have less chance of losing them before interdiction.
IMHO use the A1 unless it gives you problems, but its working like a treat on my Vulture!!

excellent, thanks for the tip. Really trying to keep power down on the vulture is a challenge, so far really like the ship but its the most power starved ship I've tried yet.

I put my shield cell bank on low priority so its off when weps out. its easy enough to retract weps and use a cell then redeploy weps. I usually do it while realigning on my target.

Yup, thats what I did too. Completely turned off SCB and will use on/off when needed, disabled cargo hatch and put everything not needed to fight on lower power priority.

I'm running around 104% and get down to mid-90s once hard points deployed and redundant systems disabled.

I could save lot more power by taking off my shield booster but for now trying this build with A0 booster.

I use A1 on my Vulture and have lost only 1 out of hundreds of interdictions against NPCs, and that 1 loss was due to a network problem. I don't know how well it works against human pilots.

I use it on FDL...it's just fine. If you're undermining your teammates tend to get in there first, but hell, you save yourself the hull damage ;)

When you use a larger interdictor for a while you'll feel the difference. It's the difference between having to wait until you get near the station and interdicting from the star. If your profession requires constantly interdicting, pirate or non-farming bounty hunter, you'll want the higher class.
