Stupid NPCs Immersion Breaking?

I hardly follow this fast paced forum so I'm not sure if I'm resurfacing a done-to-death issue but is it me or are NPCs stupid? It is very immersion breaking when I get interdicted by a mostly harmless sidewinder when I'm in my fully kitted out Clipper. Or watching NPCs fly into suns and emergency drop. Or getting pirated while mining by an Eagle with no shields.

Yesterday I was repeatedly interdicted by pirates in eagles while in a ferlance with an elite combat rating. Fer de lance is a specialized bounty hunter ship it's really not likely to have any loot. Suicide by cop/bountyhunter? Only reason I didn't vaporize them is because I didn't want bounty claims cluttering up my transactions tab. In the minute or so while I spun around, saw the eagle, then started charging my FSD, none of the eagles managed to get past the outer ring of my shields.

Something really needs to be done so NPCs aren't nearly so suicidal.

The games a broken mess.
Funny thing is I don't get intradicted much.
I tend to only fly cargo runs or camp RES but I am in a Python, they are hard to catch.

If I am in hostile space and power play camping, I do get it then but I actually want it to happen.

If my cargo was expensive, expect it.

That's a bit harsh. I rarely get interdicted unless I have some mission going, but that's when I get pulled over by harmless sidewinders and it's just so wrong. "You're mine now!!!" said the little mosquito

I'd consider NPCs as broken.
They kill the immersion so efficiently, it breaks the game for some people.
It also doesn't help that "his majesty" decided to give every second NPC a name that is as goofy or stupid as possible, or a bad pun, real life TV series reference or whatever, it disgusts me.

HAHAHA HOMER SIMPSON HAHAHAHA SO FUNNY HAHAHA

-.-

Thanks Executive.

I can't see how implementing the beginnings of something like that would be too problematic. Seems to be just about putting together a list of variables, then writing out a series of "if: then"s in great variety so as not to make things too repeatable and formulaic.

Oh come on, you really think the NPC's have any say in the matter. Those poor minions are under the mind control of Mistress Sarah, the brain dead pilots do her evil bidding without a thought to their own safety.

And the scary thing is that the NPC will get harder .....
