This is soul wrecking.

Thanks for pointing that out though, mrtree.

Every person on this thread knows that feeling. Don't be discouraged; our version of science is form hypothesis, predict outcome, test hypothesis, compare to prediction, refine hypothesis, & eventually try to duplicate results. Knowing what doesn't work helps us find new ways forward. Keep the theories coming.

If the solution is currently ingame, it may be hidden behind several elite rank missions and require ally status with the alliance.

Spitballing game mechanics for this UA

I see its purpose as one of these:

1. Puzzle Piece - we just have to find the right slot
2. Hidden Message - if we could only decipher it
3. Deliberate Enigma - and the real puzzle is the context
4. Deliberate Enigma - and well we are SOL

Possible ways in-game to interact with it:

Pickup/drop with Cargo Scoop - been done
Give to another player - been done
Give to an NPC ? - would be interested if anyone carrying it has had any odd hails from NPC characters
Talk to it in the chat - I think this has been attempted
Destroy it - been done
Sell it - I think this has been done?

There is obviously a whole mess of celestial and man made objects you can drop the artefact off next to - but the only physical environments so far i can think of would be space - your cargo hold - and a space station interior

Context issue - it is being transported by federal t9 and escort. Where From and Where To ?

Timocani -> Yggdrajang -> Breksta.

System jump -> cruising -> dropping into station space -> system jump -> cruising -> dropping into station space.

I know others have followed and got different results - if this is just random ... anyone follow it from 109 Virginis ?

Is there is a secret military/scientific base out there somewhere? ... that doesn't show up on signal from nav beacon

oh bother

Crustulum, crustulum, crustulum cru
Cano aenigmata, canis ac tu?
Crustulum, crustulum crustulum crum
Cerebrum meum est fatiga-tum....

This makes the assumption that we know about & possess all the UAs in the game. There's probably been ~75-90 unique commenters on this thread, which is ~0.015% of the total ED population: (90 commenters / 600000 total sold) * 100 = 0.015. Sure, most people in-game are probably trading or blowing each other up, but we have such a low sample of the overall populace I don't think we can answer this with any certainty.

Your point stands but your numbers are a bit on the low side. Across both threads there have so far been 726 unique commanders: 218 unique commanders on this thread and 613 on the previous thread.

Fair enough. I was guessing & didn't know there were thread-level stats. So 0.036% in this thread & 0.121% overall. :D

The 600000 might be too high too: I believe that's a bit low for total copies sold but obviously not everyone who has bought the game is still playing. Anyway, I'm just splitting hairs...

Thanks CMDR MrTree!

Interestingly, both times have been just out of the station (not even to deep space yet). Once outside Seega, once outside Pennington. Both are outpost-style (one Fed, one pirate), so the T-9/Anacondas couldn't be landing there).
I'm using the same Courier I used to nab the first UA, in the same system, same combat rank.
In going through my screenshots, there was also a new-to-me Sap-8 mission at Pennington, right before I got the UA:

As well as a few (new/rare-to-me) SS: a five pirate convoy on smuggling something through the system (T-6/2 Eagles/2 Sideys), a four clean player wing (FDL/3 Cobras), etc.

Nope, sorry. I've been through outfitting many times, no dice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLomc-hLtq4

Thanks a lot to CMDR MrTree for the massive info and patience Q&A effort!

These are mostly the new" SAP 8" holder for shoting out as mentioned here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=162998&p=2500700&viewfull=1#post2500700
(picture new attached because former deleted)

As usual: If you (or someone else for testing) need "SAP 8" or other support I'm glad to help out.
Alternative: I or everyone with Elite Combat ranking can "trigger" the spawn of the SAP 8 convoys (your pictures) for other CMDR!
see: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=162998&p=2540502#post2540502
Will try to bring them up in Mobius in Timocani (as it is the most popular system yet to hunt) if i don't activly play (European playtime ...).
Will take the mission and let my python flight i big circle around first sun. As long there is no interception this should work. Will give it a try ...

We salute you!

Disclaimer: I was not the 100% "luck rabbit" Friday and Saturday! Keep in mind ... :D

System jump -> cruising -> dropping into station space -> system jump -> cruising -> dropping into station space.

This looks like the convoys are using the Wing beacon for system jumps.
They stay in normal space (deep space) util a Wing member is in possition.
It has also been reported that the convoy looses on member when they jump.
This may be the guy going to the next system on the route.

It's a valid tactic to go from system to system, undetected.
SC is dangerous.

Question was former fullfilled answered. Follow the thread from your own linked entry ...
Keep in mind we have FED/IMP/Independent so far. I only missing a proved Alliance convoy. They only jump 3-5 times nearby.
I added "Reshas" finally to the WIKI. primary source: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=141038&p=2254034&viewfull=1#post2254034

We salute you!

P.S.:
If you would find a cloaked station try "PHIINCE". good luck ... (dont take a finy/bounty! you cant pay them like in ISINOR now)
(think it is a bug like former "Avogardo Enterprice" in "TAU CETI". Station was there since Gamma but first in map since V1.3 beta)

SC is dangerous.

Again. Everyone can see this starting from first sighting of an Naval convoy (UA included):
In normal space first a part of the wing or second party (complete wings or single ships often the dropship) jump out.
Then ( up to 10 minutes) the wing jumps to other system.
NPC's always only jumping from "normal" space. (I never seen jumping out from SC)
Have seen also at arriving at new system a few times: wing is "suspended", T9 and Anacondas there but no longer in wing. (bug?)
In new system it vary a lot. Instant low wake, travelling to celestical body -> low wake, travelling to station -> low wake
The this game (script ?) starts again (one of the remaining Anacondas as example jumps out) .
At each jump to new system or enter a low wake T9 can loose a wing.
Not mandatory. But for my gamplay mostly.

Killer: T9 has seen to jump in sun, T9 has seen to enter low wake unreachable near the sun (to hot :D)
But killer #1: CMDR will interdicted from other NPC (Pirate/Security) while following in SC. I prefer to be clean (not wanted, no cargo expect limpets).

Frontier can, has and will change at will at any time. Keep always in mind!

Ahh thanks - will have to check those out :) As to the already answered - do you mean this?

Please don't fill 20 pages with that. Seen a lot before: somtimes outpost, sometimes planet, sometimes wake near sun
Means nothing. simple script is at his end @ server ... There is no big plan, route yet.
Many expect to much from Frontier at this state of game ...

Ya - you cant tell if its random based on that. No worries - just putting it out there for anyone who wants to figure it out. Im still a week out from "civilized" space ;)

@mrTree:
you should really consider to listen to the UA from your Orca. IF you want, I'll be happy to help you with the ship-swapping issue, next evening, guarding the UA outside the station or keeping it just for the time you swap your ship...

I said "guarding" to avoid any UA destruction caused by bad scooping ;) but I don't know if the UA will disappear in front of me because you have gone to the station to swap your ship.

I was thinking that Wing beacon jumping is a safe an practical way to bring the UA to remote in-system locations, like Voyager space.

This method of travel has been a bit over-looked.

Has a UA ever been taken to the vicinity of a Capital Ship?
I couldn't see this in the Wiki so I got to thinking that the one parked in Sol might be a good place since we know that it must be commanded by somebody high up the command chain and, therefore, well-briefed on the secrets of the Federal Navy - being one confirmed previous owner of UA technology. Perhaps it will spur a transmission from the Capital Ship. Perhaps. I just thought it might be worth pursuing to knock it off the 'Possible Trigger' list if a Capital Ship hasn't already been buzzed by somebody with a UA. As for any transmissions by a UA in the area of a Capital Ship, I would be surprised if it could simply be repeating Morse from the ship, but it is big enough to have its own instance so surely big enough a body to get a response from the UA.

Hit up the Majestic Interdictor Warrior tonight (in orbit around Achenar 5) - https://youtu.be/R-IprRDdT-0. tl;dw - No dice.

I also did the trip to Jaque's Station - https://youtu.be/q-0ks9cY3E4

Yes. I only try avoid big fruiteless efforts for other CMDR's. Not everyone can take so much time like I'm able to be in game last weeks.
But as I says every CMDR: It is your game! The one or the other find joy to verify that or better find new aspects and can proof me wrong.:D
Other may be want to have the kick to shot it out. I'm more a defensive player.
If Frontier would be implemented a direction/route/final target we would be aware of this very fast.
Also interesting: they never dock so far ...

We salute you!

If I find a UA in Timocani (and that's a BIG if), I'll be doing a few basic tests before taking it somewhere with a wing of people, dropping a dozen SAP8's and a few Hafnium 178's along with the UA and letting it decay outright.

I want to see if that pulse/distortion does anything to the containers. Multiple points of view recording at 60fps.
