are the UA's a trap???

Unlike Star wars "its a trap" scenario does anyone think that finding the UA possible "thargoids" canisters feel like a Trojan horse style trap.
Ive noticed the devs replays to cmdrs that have found but not collected these canisters to state "unfortunately" they didn't collect?

Not having found these canisters myself and they don't seem to be to far from normal space and navy ships trying to transport them on the QT..

Makes me think perhaps they should be left where they are, for the time being at least, as currently we are bringing back bringing them closer to our human space habitats etc, and if Thargoid in origin they are...well we have all seen "Troy" the movie i'm sure.. makes me edgy heheh..:D:eek:

Just a though...

any thoughts and personal theories welcome...

I think they're a horrible trap. They're using morse code, and even more horribly, they're using our own greed and curiosity against us. They don't even need to send stealthy scout ships to plant them - they're relying on us picking them up and taking them to our most advanced R&D departments throughout human space! And they broadcast their location! How can it not be a trap.

It gets even worse when you consider that humans originally inflicted a horrific virus on the Thargoids that almost wiped them out when we were last at war with them.

And now there's this Cerberus plague that seems to be spreading from where it started... three community goals to try to keep it under control?! Oh my god. I bet the most unknown artifacts were taken to that system and that's how it started. Wouldn't it be the supreme act of revenge for the Thargoids to strike back at us by effectively letting us 'spread' their technological sleeper plague bombs as if it were a virus itself? And then actually unleashing a virus on us? Not to mention - the virus humans used against them not only killed them, but ruined their technology because it was biological... so the virus killed their ships and systems too! And yet no one thinks its weird that when you carry an unknown artifact in your ship, all your modules start taking damage?!

Also the Emperor has been replaced with a Thargoid wearing a human skin. We should be told the truth!

How did this tinfoil hat get on my head?

No, but seriously, I think the unknown artifacts are a trap and the Cerberus plague is of Thargoid design. :)

Still with the Tharg assumptions...

Personally, I'm hoping that the FDev hint ("There are far worse things out there than Thargoids") is another, far more aggressive race - to the point where humanity has to go to the Thargoids for help. This is a race whose lightest, weakest ship takes either an exceptional pilot or a wing to take down.

Thus...we'd all get our asses kicked, and humankind would start working on massive ship upgrades (and new ships) to take on the new threat.

Glad you agree something doesn't smell right for sure, but with money and easy picking UA we are getting sucked in :))

WE ARE SUCH MAGPIES hahah

Speak for yourself. When I finished with my UA, I gave it to another CMDR to carry on the effort :)

it had to happen

I already said this when the artefacts were being discovered. I think that they are, in effect, spies, generating their radiation to make them easy to find, crippling ship systems (to see how EMP hard the ships are), and getting us to take them to scientific research centres (where we think we are examining them), where they then start studying our science, and then WHAM! All the UAs trigger a synchronised EMP pulse to cripple our technology, and shout (to their masters) that we are now vulnerable,

Interesting thought do many reasons and speculation I guess we will all know soon maybe a faction hit, or a system more likely a section of unknown thargoid space for is to a fight.. War is coming,.. I'm off..:p

Hmm, it's hard to believe, but perhaps, in the years of the 34th century, human affairs are being watched from the timeless voids of space.

It might not be unreasonable to dream that we're being scrutinised, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.

Men have considered the possibility of life on other planets, as well as Thargoids, and it could be, that across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours are regarding our territory with envious eyes, and slowly and surely, drawing plans against us.

To swerve from high brow straight down to low brow, do you think at some point someone will be able to say to these curious visitors, "Welcome to Earth"? Cigars and fisticuffs optional. :)

Who's to say that in some of those inaccesible bubbles of space aren't groups of three or four different alien species vying for power in the same way the major powers are in our bubble. All FDev have to do is 'turn them on' and bang. Thargoids (fisticuffs) and E.T. (cuddles) all in one go. My guess is if/when non-human species are introduced, it'll be the same kind of political 'PowerPlay' we've got at the moment, only with different avatars and ships (well...ships if we're lucky). That's how cynical I've become.

Then the servers will break on Sunday between 22:00 and 00:00 like they always do and I won't get to play it anyway.

Oh, and Oooooo-Laaaaaaaaaa!!!

I really like this idea.

*twist on a Twist*
What if the UA are weapons created by Humans
A trojan horse but made by us to mimic Thargoid technology so Thargoids will collect them when discovered and be infected by them

After all the Trojan Horse was a Horse to be a symbol associated with the Trojans to encourage Priam to bring it in the city.

I have a confession to make about these so called UA's.

Long ago in a galaxy not as solid as this one I crashed my cobra while carrying several tons of slaves... By my calculations these UA's are those cargo containers some 300 years later (no jokes about me being old!). I recognise the old transponder signal with the slaves scream registered for ID. The colours are, I suspect, noxious gasses from the decomposition of the corpse.

Very sorry for all the fuss caused by this, if it turns out to be my fault that is :D
