Is your goal to be Elite?

I'm just curious. How many of you are making an effort to get to Elite in either Combat, Trade or Exploration?

I'm not sure I'll ever get there - I'm currently at Expert, Entrepreneur and Trail Blazer, and my playstyle doesn't seem to be such that I could see it happening in the next year.

Combat is especially unlikely, since I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong!) that the higher ranked ships you kill give the most benefit, and those higher ranks are in the process of being buffed further yet.

It's OK; I don't need to be Elite any time soon. :) I found the naval ranks to be more interesting - I'll be excited to see what FD does to make them meaningful!

My goal is to enjoy what I'm doing.

I only aim for ranks and such when they unlock important things for me (like the Dropship at rank Ensign). Other than that, I don't pay attention.

Right now Elite status doesn't unlock much. You can go to Shinrarta Dezrha, YAY. You can do low/average paying missions that are exactly like any other mission, YAY.
I'm not farming for that ;)

Not really, just have fun while playing; I would like elite though, so I can access the gated missions and anything else that it may be required for.

Might get there eventually but not focusing on it. Plenty of other things to do along the way, i'm hoping by just doing stuff I'd adventurously get there.

Absolutely not. I never cared about the ranks, not in Elite, not in FE2, not in ED.

I want to live my 2nd life in the future as long and interesting as possible, I absolutely don't care about the badges I acquire during that time.

No, not really. If a piracy rank is introduced, i want to be the top swashbuckler on the high seas, but combat rank doesn't interest me. I'm not very much into exploration, either.

I'd like trade rank if trading was dangerous, and low-security/anarchy systems paid much more. I'd definitely trade if it wasn't a simple grind.

Yeah it probably is my goal now, that and fully combat spec'ing my Anaconda.

I'm currently ranked: Tycoon 22, Dangerous 41, Pathfinder 47.

I'll probably go after explorer last. I like to mix up between the three but exploring is the one that ideally needs days focused on it. I did set off on a Sag A tour but turned back when I realised this would be all my 'ED fix' would consist of for a few weeks!

But I would not say I'm wholly goal focused, I still maintain that if you play the game for fun the stats, ranks and CR balance look after themselves.


btw OP I changed my graphite FDL to white after seeing your sig pic. Apparently its the sincerest form of flattery....

I'm 2% off trade elite..then I'm off to grow are community xyz..and hopefully help people out along the way..elite combat and exploration will come eventually

I hope to be a triple elite someday, but I concentrate on enjoying the ride. Exploration elite is the closest as I am a pioneer already and I try to achieve it as soon as possible. Sadly Sgr A* run wasn't enough.

Trading and combat are progressing as well, but I need better gear to make those more enjoyable.

Yes, trade first, and then I'll take my time with the other two. By then money won't be an issue.

Elite ^ 3 is what I want.

I'm going slow. Finished trading already. Gaining maybe 1-2% combat rank every play session. It's going take a couple months to go from Deadly to Elite but I'm not in a rush.

Then it's off to explore in an Orca for the last tree.

I am going to make the push to be Elite in Exploration, but that's only because I love it :D When it comes to Combat and Trading, I'll simply take it as it comes, but will not grind for it. I'll grind for other reasons and enjoy the rankups as they come, but not to reach Elite.

Elite Explorer, though? IT MUST BE MINE!
