Man Tears

Today was the first time I sniffled in front of my computer. My wife walked past and asked what the hell happened, as I had just let out a blood curdling scream that I am sure even the neighbors heard a few houses down the road...

I just got my anaconda 3 days ago... outfitted with mostly B rated equipment and blew around 200m credits. I was joyous... My first experience was scraping the crap out of the dock envelope, but all was good.. I discovered how awesome it was in combat, expecting mostly it was only really good for trading.. All was good in my life.

I got cocky.. isnt that always what happens.. I saw a wing of 3 pythons all wanted, and all I could hear in the back of my mind was Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching.. The first one went down, but I was loosing shields fast and decided to bail after running out of recharges.. I hit boost.. and flew away.. but.. not very fast.. Im watching my armor slowly vanishing, and I start to panic, but my frameshift drive is slowly kicking in.... then it happened.. module malfunction... my thrusters have died.. Next thing I know my hud dies and I see explosions... at first I am in denial.. then start thinking.. my god, did I leave enough for insurance.... and I get to the insurance screen....

200,000 credits short...

I screamed
I cried..
I loaded up my FREE sidewinder and whimpered out of space dock....

My wife thinks I'm strange.. but I know some of you will feel my pain..

I learned my lesson..... Paid for it in Man Tears.

Apparently if you flutter your eyelids at FD support via ticketing, they'll just give you a replacement ship these days, rendering the whole insurance mechanic pointless.

Man am I in a cynical mood today.

Ahhhh OP, have some rep, a well written disaster and some rep may at least make you feel a bit better.

Back to the rare runs in your sidey then hauler, then cobra, then type 6 -> Asp -> type 7 -> Python -> anaconda, no problem :)

<sigh>

Read the damned thread! I used to wonder why the threadnaughts went on and on for weeks with the same old circular arguments, but this thread has made me realise: half the people posting replies don't bother reading past the OP. It's not because other people's posts aren't being understood, it's because most of them aren't even being read. :(

Just so much to read, bit like Galnet.
