No love for 3d vision?

It seems the game is still having issues when NVidia's 3D vision is enabled.
.
A lot of it looks really good, but the HUD is projected over the existing cockpit and this generates very awkward effects when viewed in 3D mode.
Text of the HUD becomes unreadable because instead of a hologram, it 'falls' onto elements of the cockpit like the metal bars and the glass of the canopy and all things sticking out towards the observer.
The same is true for any in-station menu and the left and right hud displays.
They too seem to be projected into the cockpit following the layout of the ships interior instead of being a holographic projection.
.
To me, it looks like the graphics engine only needs a few extra 'invisible planes' to project the HUD onto and everything will be fixed, but that's coming from a gfx noob point of view.
.
It's a shame because, as I said, the rest of the game looks so darn fantastic in 3D mode.
Some say there are also some shadow issues but from what I've seen these are very minor and didn't bother me as much as the hud.
.
Maybe fixing this will have a performance impact for non-3d users, it could be an option in the graphics settings menu or maybe you guys can auto-detect if 3d vision is enabled.
Anyway, p.p.p.please try to fix these last bits of anomalies because it makes it very tiresome to play in 3d mode while this game is so perfectly suited for it.

Pretty please with sugar on top????:eek::eek::eek::eek:

(yeah, I'm that desperate)

Considering Elites insane level of hardware support for controllers and VR I would put another post over on the suggestions page possibly with screenshots or a fraps video if possible to highlight the problem. (or a phone pic if its not showing on screen).

I think on one of many previous threads on this subject, a graphics dev said it wasn't easy to implement with the Cobra engine in its current form, as the NVidia drivers for 3D Vision makes a lot of incorrect assumptions about rendering depth (I don't have the direct quote). It sounded like it required a fundamental change that would break lots of other things. A shame really, although since I've bought a Rift I've no longer yearned for it as much as I used to, but can understand why it would still be popular to support.
