And I'm off on my first deep space trip

Set out from Sol in my nicely kitted out Diamondbank Explorer.
First stop - Betelgeuse!
The red supergiant was very impressive. So I thought I'd go check out the other one. I'm now making my way to VY Canis Majoris. I may make the rounds of all the massive Hypergiants before coming back.
I am also doing a bit of surveying. Warp ~30lys. Scan the whole system. Warp another ~30ly.

If anyone wants to add me as a friend please do. I'd love to see where everyone else is out and about to.

My trip was very similar to yours! I went to BetelGeuse, then to VY Canis Majoris, but on my we to Canis Majoris, I ran into another Giant. This was also the trip where I discovered my first Earth-Like world. Good luck on your trip, mate!

Help yourself!! Just add those in here and make yourself available as well!

Right on CMDR! And safe travels!!

Sorry for the delay in updates..... but the bandwidth way out here is terrible.
So first I made a trip to go and see the Hypergiant Betelgeuse.

Speeding towards the Hypergiant at 45c!

Next stop was VY Canis Majoris.... but... then inspiration hit. Isn't Rigel close by?? Lets go visit the blue supergiant!

A very interesting visit. Now on to VY Canis Majoris. Although there are sure to be some nice sights along the way. Like a 3 star system

And even a second 3 star system

I'll post more cool stuff as I come to it.

Nice pics, I dont take enough pics. I discovered a system today with 3 WW, and took no pictures. As soon as I move on I think I should have turned photographer but this explorer is not for turning (back) unless I reach a dead end.

Ok... I think **** communications ***** aligned. Hopefully this transmit** will *** it back ok.
Had a bit of a problem on the way to VY Canis Majoris. A nearly invisible asteroid ring suddenly caused me to drop from supercruise. Fortunately the ship didn't sustain much damage. However for some reason my GTX 570 imaging device blew out. Fortunately the AFMU contained another one. So for right now I'm running on an older HD4870 imaging device. As such the images I have to share aren't as high quality.... anyways... here are some other sights I encountered.

A ringed brown dwarf, the culprit for the sudden damage.

Finally... I arrived at my destination. The Hypergiant VY Canis Majoris

VY Canis Majoris is not alone in its system however. It does have a brown dwarf for a baby brother
Here that brown dwarf is at a distance of > 1 Ls. Meanwhile VY Canis Majoris at a distance of over 10000Ls looms in the background.

I am now currently headed back. Hopefully there will be more to come from cool stuff found on the way.

Good luck, and keep cool.
The other day I got cocky, ended up taking some minor heat damage from a neutron star.
