I'm 90% sure Gamescom announcement will be about Planetary Landings. Atleast i hope so (would perfectly happy with tier 2 NPCs too, but doubt there is big enough PR value).
But there is always that 10% doubt.

Nah, that group support is already done by community group. They are gathering everyone together for Skype call to get their feedback. They also launched notion of player group becoming minor faction and later - power. It's all work in progress and heck I welcome this notion - but really no 'big announcement about big work done for long time' material.
That can only mean one thing

Here's how to manage expectations:
Step 1 - Understand that something will be announced.
Step 2 - Don't get too excited.
One thing we can all agree on I think - this is *reveal*. Release of whatever they will reveal most likely will be end of the year. Just to rein in on too much hope
I missed that. It is perhaps the single most sad and pathetic thing they have ever told us.
Well, easier said than done. I was so disappointed with PP that I became physically ill. In fact, I have not spoken about it until this post and it feels quite surreal. Imagine being a 6 year old on Christmas morning and finding out your dad is an alcoholic and santa clause is dead. That is how disappointed I was. I have worked through this...but now I have shame for allowing myself to be hurt in such a personal and intimate way. Never again.....Never.

Perhaps you could form a group for those similarly afflicted and space hug one another. While it will never fill the aching void in your soul it would at least pass the time, no?

This is a videogame... do you usually get this upset over a videogame? Or is it just that you care about this one so much? In any case, can I gently ask you to keep your perspective? That's a hell of a thing to lay on the developers and it sounds like you're exaggerating or that you need to take a step back and have a deep breath. "physically ill", "worked through this", "hurt in such a personal and intimate way"... do you really think it's fair to compare your disappointment with Powerplay to receiving emotional abuse?
Thats right, and wear tight pants, that should keep all that excitement under control.
An to me it all sounds like it will come piece meal, an that they will probably experiment a lot first.

Wait! I think you've hit the nail on the head. FD are on good terms with MS. MS own Skype! Its Skype for ED! Full integrations with Skype, so you can chat with all your Skype buddies while playing, and stream your game to them! This will increase the number of people playing ED and using Skype! Its a win for both MS and FD!!!!
