I'd agree with you, but we're talking about a video game, not NATOs plans for deploying cruise missiles in Eastern Europe. I know the games industry these days like to keep things very close to their chest and keep everything quiet as if they're working for the defense department, but that's unnecessary and frankly rather condescending of them. They (Frontier) can talk to us about ideas they have for the game, and frankly it'd be better if they did this - we wouldn't end up with (sorry FDev) complete crap like Powerplay or SCBs otherwise.
Perhaps SJA did break their communication policy by actually communicating, listening and talking with us on a human level. What was the result? The only thing most people actually liked about 1.3 was the improved AI (along with visual and graphical improvements). All the other stuff, powerplay etc, turned out to be a waste of time.
Like any company they can have any policy they want. Just because they have the right to do so doesn't mean they're right to do so.
They really need to say something about this.
