So.... Kepler 452b...

All we have is a general distance of 1400ly in the direction of the constellation Cygnus. If they published the RA and dec then there's a chance a system might be found at that approximate point.

FDev have been known to add Kepler systems after publication.

It's location is no mystery... If THEY <-- Who are they? NASA? You know you can find it's location on about 1 million websites right?

The Kepler-452 system also has the following designations:

  • KOI-07016
  • KIC-8311864
  • 2MASS 19440088+8311864
The system may be in the game with as one of these if not as Kepler-452.

So, the system is there but not referenced/undiscovered? (I am a noob that never went outside of the "civilized" bubble)

Yes, "they" are NASA.
A quick search from my phone didn't turn up any obvious single click answers for RA/dec. Thank you for providing the info.

I won't be able to check until I get home tonight, but I know roughly in the sky where it us now.

LoL. Can you imagine the look on the faces of the press if NASA reeled out these numbers :D Best they stick to pointing at a screen and saying 'Its there' and show some pictures made in photoshop, far simpler for the press to understand!

just search for kepler-452, finds most of the other kepler and koi candidate targets. The annoying thing is the ones found are sequential, which makes if difficult to tick them all off without travelling back and forth. Just tried it doesnt seem to be there, nor do 451 450 or 430. 400, 401 are though, so maybe the latest targets havent been entered.

As the year is 351 days, it must have been observed over a couple of years, and so should already have been in place, when ED's database was constructed.

I think Kepler objects are named KOI in game.

Kelper-452 should be KOI 452, but this gives G5V star about 4800ly from Sol (my current location is about ~100 ly from Sol).

Kepler 452-b

Given the announcement concerning the discovery of a large earth type planet, Kepler 452b, in the Kepler 452 system, I was wondering whether anyone had been there and discovered it before NASA. It's 1400 light years from Sol so not even sure if its reachable. Probably out of range of my Cobra for sure.

Cygnus X-1 is not in game either. Still gettin' NO respect.

Sadness... I was even gonna buy a tricked out Asp to get there. No credits for you, FD!
