Alien civilization?

Michio Kaku spoke of this in his last book, which was an amazing read speculating this idea. If there is life on these planets, and the inhabitants originated from the same planet, the chance of them sharing any compatibility with humans would be quite inconceivable.

Edit: What system is this in? Do you remember what the description said in the map?

This was the description

I'm keeping the exact location to myself until I've traded in the exploration data!

Found an Earth-like over 25k lys from Sol.
When I came in for a closer look I saw what looks like city lights on the night-side.
So is this an alien civilization?
I could only see the one patch of lights so it looks like it's early in its development.

If you're seeing random patches of light you should check the oxygen balance in your cockpit.

Did you log off the try going to planet againt o see if lights were still present? This would rule out a bug in game and give us the first indication of alien civilization, even if primative. Exciting find though, congrats :)

You better nuke 'em from orbit to be sure. In another thousand years they might reach out to the stars and threaten all of humanity!

There was also an earthlike seen with what looked like a pair of aircraft contrails in its atmosphere...there's intelligent alien life out there, folks...just the vast majority of it isn't space capable!

I think we need a larger picture... :)

That is the main reason we have not been visited in real life.

That as well as the fact that there are hundreds of billions of stars out there. As the newsletter said it will take all the players over 23,000 years to fully explore the galaxy. I'd suspect it would be much the same for the real galaxy, and therefore finding Earth would be like finding a grain of sugar on a sandy beach.

Its gonna be freaking awesome when we get planetary landing and be able to land on these worlds and see if it is a civilization, then get captured and dissected by said civilization while your ship gets dismantled and reverse engineered because said aliens are wildy xenophobic and wages a war of extermination on an unsuspecting humanity just as a war is being fought between the imperials and the federation.

Then the unknown artifact is finally decoded with the assistance of a newly re-emerged thargoid race who reveal the said message is "for gawds sake dont goto the earthlike world at -4000-2302-45 as measured from sgr A*"

Oh I need another tinfoil hat :)

Obviously some kind of bioluminescent sea creatures. :D You can see similar stuff even on earth. I mean on earth from space. It's called The Milky Sea Effect, which is caused by bioluminescent bacteria. :)

It was nothing your scanners would of came back with something interesting.

Not necessarily as some theorists have debated. Michio Kaku proposed that a race that can achieve faster then light travel, will have evolved into a race that have very different ideals then our own. I just finished his book "The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance, and Empower the Mind" and it really blew me away in regards to the human brain. Its a good read if interested. At the end of the book, he attempts to describe what alien life could be like. With such high intelligence, they would be more God like to us. He also stated that in the Earth, in order for humans to have evolved, needed to be in such perfect order. One small deviation could have been lights out for us. The possibility for another planet to produce humanoid life would be near ungodly odds. Many theorists have stated that the ways earth evolved in our system needed such perfection, they have at times, brought in the God factor, stating that the perfection of alignment is incalculable by man, that it may have been helped along by something unknown. I also enjoy the sci-fi of the film Jupiter Ascending. Though I found it an enjoyable story, I was quite scared imaging the human race as depicted in this film. What days we live in!

What if there was nothing to be scanned, or jammed?

its just light bouncing off of 3D clouds in the upper atmosphere. I have half a dozen pics just like that. One of them, the light is coming MUCH farther from the twilight region.
