Yesterday, I got my sidewinder back from the station I'd parked it at, ages ago and so took it out for a spin in open play. My base is Cuebo, HQ to the plastic princess and so I run a few little delivery missions to local systems to get a feel for the play etc. I am in solo 99% of the time and I have to say, that there IS a difference in open play. NPC, interaction is a lot greater for a start. In solo, I can cruise for up to 10 mins before an NPC tries to pull me out of super cruise, yet in open play, it happens all of the time. I am not complaining, just making an honest observation. In open, there does seem to be more going on. Saw a few commanders, all clean and all local factions. No interaction with real players at all, although I buzzed passed a few for fun. NPCs are more willing to attack or try to pull you out of SC. This could be because I was in a sidewinder, I am not sure. Had a few cobras, a Clipper, Diamondback and a Python try and fail, but as soon as any Eagles; no matter what rank, tried, I just had to submit and deal with them. Over the past few weeks, I am really getting to hate Eagles, but they seam easier to deal with in a sidewinder than my fully kitted Cobra. I have to say, I enjoyed myself and now my Sidey is parked at base, I will be coming out to play a lot more. One thing did confuse me a little. I saw a real player in an Asp and the scan said they were in a wing of 2, but could not find the second ship, no matter how close I got to the Asp. Any ideas at all on this?
