Not exactly. I'm asking for extra reward bacause my playstyle carries inherently a bit more risk than your playstyle. The risk may or may not happen, true, but it is definitley there.
I free-solo climb. It's incredibly risky compared to the usual rockhounds that use pitons, harness, rope relays... yet I climb. No one pays me to do it. I accept the risk because my reward is getting to the top using nothing but my body's strength and the pride I feel in that.
I don't demand other-style climbers give up their tools. I don't even look down on them. I do not think I should be rewarded "extra" because of my chosen climbing style.
Just split the solo/open universe. Why do you care what happens in open? You play happily, on your own, with NPC interaction and open players interact how they want in their universe. Surely that works?
YES!
I just died, due to a) flying drunk. b) system security ramming me while I had no shields, in a fight, that I was drunk in and didn't see system security had joined in.
My death is some one elses fault. I know it is, as nothing is ever my fault - therefore, as nothing is ever my fault, the risk of my flying while drunk is on FD and they must pay me more to cover my loss, as I flew while drunk and they let me - it is there fault, and it is the fault of open players for not joining Mobius and stopping me flying while drunk.
Someone owes me credits.
My rebuy was 20k on my Viper.
Open players owe me a Viper.
End of.

Oh and so you know.. I trade too.. with full sheilds and thrusters. The only thing I don't have is weapons because there is no way I could fight someone off.
I am amusing myself with (new) turreted pulse and beams on my Anaconda traderI only sacrificed about a half-LY jump range. Well worth it.
And before you ask me about the efficiency, think about the power of 4 lg pulse & 4 beams as well as 933 shields![]()
Pfft In a Viper are you serious, 20k rebuy is easy mode!, I used to fly my ASP in a RES, in the dark up hill both ways, with > 1 mill CR rebuy, and I know as I re-bought it a fair few times.
I chickened out (there's one for Cody "chicken") and went for a Vulture ~ 500k CR rebuy, I also avoid dark reses now, but 20k is just, just, just IDK playing it your way.
Ps Damn it Cody, I went and got a Cobra for old times sake after our chat, now Jockey makes me want a Viper again too, now if only I could find some Beta era cannons to put on herI would be heading for Freeport.

A trader just has to work a route not in leetsi to be just as safe as the player in open. The balance between the modes is even closer now.
<snip>
This is one of the issues I bring up a lot, because there hasn't been a "moar open" response to it yet.
Leesti is on one of the main rares trading loops; the loops I believe were put there for new players to be able to "gear up" and get some experience flying, route plotting and trade calculations.
So I see the blockade-mentality going for easy pickings. I also see it as creeping ownership issues. Thankfully, ED has said there'd be no players "owning" a system ala EvE. Thankfully, we have the modes to use to combat this type of behavior.
This is a good point brought up in other posts. I assumed NPCs would have random cargo comparable to players. However, as it stands now reminds me of Diablo, where top Hell mode bosses were just as likely to throw (useless) Cracked Swords as anything even approaching their level. There was loud hue & cry about that... but the treasure classes never got any better.
From another angle, big NPC trade ships (T-series) are just as likely to be running commodities like grain or medical supplies as "tasty" loot because the greater share of commodity trading profits by bulk, not necessarily cargo "quality." So how would a pirate like it if the loot was... 436 Hydrogen or Biowaste?

Stop having an influence on me when i can't see you. It's like some invisible thief skulking around my home and stealing from me under my feet with no repercussions.

yeah my DBS is 289k per rebuy at the moment >.< Not counting the scan data and bounty I had on me when it happened. So yeah.. was an expensive pop.
I got some great bounty's last night, 250k for 1 ship, I got the kill but left with no canopy and 22 mins of air, I docked in about 7 mins but am still so glad I A rated the life support, 25 minutes is great, I used to let the Empire & Alliance bounty's stack to ~ 1 mill CR, these days I cash in at half that, the AI is a lot better than it used to be.
That's the 3rd canopy in as many weeks, I got away twice, the other time I lost my drives and got slaughtered.

I chickened out...
and went for a Vulture
Please don't force me to free solo climb too....
(I used to do that too - but that was about 6 stone and 20 years ago)
