What Are The Best Weapons For The Vulture

I have this loadout and am pretty happy with it.

It takes down everything with power plant sniping and going against most NPCs doesn't even need the shield cell banks.

Fighting in a Conflict Zone nets me around 1.5 Mio Cr/h and in HIRESs it can go up even further.

With the additional fuel tank it actually makes for a decent bounty hunter while hopping systems ^^

I have c3 beam and cannon.
I was using two c3 pulse.

The 2nd option is cheaper and has lower power needs.

With 2 large pulses you can fire forever and never need to reload / resupply. That of course if you have top power supply and distribution.

I'm sad to see you're abandoning the viper for a vulture. Double up the large pulse.
.
Use fixed. Not gimbaled. Seriously folks, I'm all for 'play it your way', but gimbaled in a vulture? Really? That's just insulting.

This.

Stick with fixed- they are cheaper, pack more punch, and make you feel as if you are earning your kills. Forget beams, I have med beams on my Cobra and love them but they take way too much power in a Vulture.

I agree with 2 pulses. Fixed or gimbal depends on your skill akd laziness though, it's really up to you. Gimballed pulse are pretty quick and precise when you want to take out power plants on other ships.

I'd just like to know what the best weapons to put on the Vulture are. Thanks!:)

Based on my research with the Vulture it comes down to one simple question. Do you want to run an active Shield Bank in combat? If yes you are pretty limited in weapon choices. If you don't mind stowing weapons and dumping a chaff to deploy a charge then you will be able to increase the selection. I don't want to knock the Vulture but the Courier can run two active SCBs and has more shields and a lower rebuy. I like the Vulture, it looks great, it sounds great and I always want to buy one again but whenever I go to build it... I just kinda look at the rebuy/power and decide against it. The last time I checked it looked like you could pull off a reasonable set up with two B Boosters, 2 Chaff and an Active 4B SCB, you take a hit in the thruster department but you can pull it off.

The more I analyzed the design of the Vulture the more I realized its purpose. It's supposed to be used in a Wing and that's where it will really shine. It's agile and it dishes damage if it can stay out of fire. When it does get targetted it has the speed and the chaff to buy time for wingmates to regain control of the situation. If it gets rammed in a hot zone with larger ships it's in serious trouble. I think it's one of the best looking ships in Elite too.

On a side note I've had a good time in the Cobra with 4x Burst. I was wondering how that would run on a Viper?

I generally run with twin pulse lasers on my Vulture but I did experiment with two beams on separate triggers which worked well. I used the single beam most of the time but to do some serious damage to big ships in short bursts the other came into play.

Burst and Plasma eats big ships quick by PP sniping.
If you train your aim a bit it will also come in handy to toast small vessels quickly.
However i recommend going "trailing" gunsight mode, to keep your focus on the piloting and
take plasma shots only when ships decelerate to change their vector.

I use this setup. With a C3 beam and a C2 pulse, and four pips to weapons, you can fire the C2 pulse indefinitely while the capacitor recharges so you can use the C3 beam again.

What a good idea.

I always go with two pulse lasers on every ship. Even the ones that have more than 2 hardpoints. I just leave the other hardpoints blank. No point filling them with unnecessary equipment.

I had two small pulse lasers on my Sidewinder, and they served me well. I had two small pulse lasers on my Freagle, and they performed flawlessly. I had two medium pulse lasers on my Viper, and they rocked. I had two medium pulse lasers on my Cobra, and I never needed anything else to defend myself. Two medium pulse lasers were all I needed on my Asp, and when I finally got my Vulture and my Courier, I knew exactly how I would equip them.

Twin frakking pulse lasers. :D

They never let you down. *cue commercial music*
