Explorers : "system you have visited®" GALAXY MAP Filtrer needed

Hi there !

Do you enjoy the following idea : ask FD to add a filter in galaxy map to display YOUR OWN visited systems.

For explorers it could be awesome to remind where you have been and to show friend your ELITE TRAIL !!!!

If you support this idea, just post a reply here :)

Yup, I agree.

On the Nav screen, I'd like previous route return to save going into galaxy map all the time. AND the option to fave a route to appear in the nav screen. Just one or two fave routes would be fine.

I suggested a similar feature a while back; a bookmarking system that would let you save star systems as favorites, just like you would do with, say, web pages.

I think this has been asked for ever since one of the first players discovered one of the first earth likes.
And then asked himself: "where do I check for my discovered planets, stars or systems?"

It's nothing revolutionary or difficult to create.

"...everyone keeps asking for the same things since we launched the game - i know, let's do something completely different instead: Powerplay!"

And if you think about it for a second, the data is already there. Go to a system, what do you see when you arrive? Well, if you are far out; then you probably see "undiscovered" but, if you are in close or on a popular route you will see "discovered by CMDR XXXX". So the database is already there, it has to be or else you wouldn't know who had been in a system before.

So, if it's already there as it most assuredly is; then why not incorporate this data elsewhere? Seems like an easy win for the home team to me and something that could have been done (should have been done) a lot sooner.

I agree. Systems that you have first discovered should appear on your own galaxy map, for your own reference to what you have first discovered, each system should have a small icon on your personal Galaxy Map, with possibly colour coded Green for a full system scan and Yellow for just a star scan. or even an extra page link on the ship panel away from the main route galaxy map.

If you don't mind :) I'd like to toss another thought out for discussion. The UC documents all systems regardless of the power finding it. And I know this is not the age of Columbus, but if you give it a bit of thought; do you really think Empire would offer up information about an ELW that one of their members had discovered? Or for that matter a pristine metal ringed system? I think the logical answer would be no and that if an explorer docked at an Empire system to sell his data, then that data would go into Empire data banks only. This would be transparent to the player, as the UC would continue to report "this star/planet found by" but the background game mechanic of expansion (if such a mechanic exists) would drive expansion of powers based on this knowledge. If two powers had knowledge of the same ELW it might drive conflict. Maybe this is how it works now, I don't know. But, aside from the explore grind just to make cash, see some cool systems, and rank up; what are explorer's doing? Advancing science, supporting the mining industry, finding systems suitable for expansion for their power? I can make believe all day, create my own goals, etc; but what is the effect of all our exploration on the way the game expands out from the center of human existence? If exploration does nothing to the game mechanic, then at least tell us that.
