Will Xbox players be better than PC players because of CQC?

There may be too much of a gap in tech between the PC and the Xbox, it would be unfair to Xbox players to fight with PC players, PC players may have an advantage in software Macro's, Head Tracking & Input systems. I'm not saying that it would be impossible for a Xbox player to beat a PC player but, there is a clear difference between the 2 platforms.

So it's a little irrelevant, any advantage they may have would only be environmental, which is generally learnt within the first week with most competitive arenas.

It will pretty much, no matter what, be like that:

- Some PC Players are better then some Xbox Players
- Some Xbox Players are better then some PC Players

you will always have great variaty in Skill of Players no matter what plattform.

Types of ships aside...Im talking about combat abilities...to know when to move your pips, know what to do when shields are low...these type of skills are honed faster through arena than open pve or pvp

Remember....xboxers are from a realm of battlefield and cod for years...I know that we with pc's think that the hardware may make a difference...but the xboxers are born into a pvp enviroment...not so much for pc

Is that last part a joke, pc gamers were playing pvp years before consoles could even connect to the internet. Google unreal tournament if you're to young to remember among others. Oh and cod was a pc game long before if got watered down into the crap it became when was it was released on consoles.

You only need to look at the stats for BF4 and you see the PC players out score and out rank the console players by a large margin. Only advantage they will have is knowing the maps and this would only last a few days.

My bet is on the players who have been flying, fighting, trading, exploring, docking for over a year.

The XBox players will spend the first 2 months bouncing off the station walls and wondering why the ship doesn't dock when they fly into the yellow squares.

Win a CQC match, botch the docking afterwards by getting wedged in the toast rack and the station blowing you up. Epic!

The title says it all....

If PC players could have honed their combat skills in a CQC arena during or prior to release...how combat skilled would the player base be once let loose into the galaxy?

Im betting in a 6 months to a year...if there was ever a competition of pvp skills on mutual grounds, xbox players would reign...

dont get me wrong..Im not a console pilot, I love my PC...but it just makes sense that with CQC being released first on xbox,, it will enhance the combat abilites way more than pc players had when released.

would be cool to have a joint arena one day so pc gamers could battle xboxers

Solo or Group play then.

I dont think it will be a problem we have way more faster controll of the ships then on a xbox controller.

Xbox players would be better (as a whole) in a combat where the gamepad was the only control method, but otherwise no I think the HOTAS and smoother framerates on PC are too much of an advantage.

Everyone's wrong. Doesn't mater if you're on PC with flight stick & head tracking or on Xbox with cqc experience. It would be the younger players that kick ass. I know my reactions are on the decline the older I get. Still doesn't stop me enjoying my gaming

Xbox players won't even be in the same universe...

which i think is actually a shame.

at first i thought it'd be all pew-pew consoley nonsense, but by all reports their community is better than the PC one - friendlier, less griefers, no hackers - and no screaming complaining on the internet about missing features ;-)

also. my best mate plays E-D on Xbone, and I'd like to team up with him. OH WELL

In short: NO..............

I forget the details BUT a while ago Microsoft did some research into cross-platform gaming and found that the PC crowd had a serious advantage against the console crowd, in part due to the controls. It was deemed grossly unfair to put the console kiddies up against pro gamers lol :)

all comes down to skill, if it were with an controller, mouse&keyboard or a HOTAS.

but ive tried them, and have to say that having a HOTAS makes it easyer, at least for me it did

Well we did have post release PvP Alpha builds last year.

Alpha 2 consisted of nothing more than a set of scenario maps in which we would fight and test pre-set load-outs.

We selected a scenario from a mission screen and picked a pre-selected load-out.

See the early Scott Manley video

We used to spend hours tumbling around the 'Ethics & Credits scenario' shooting at each other.

I've been playing since then and I still suck at PvP

There is a reason why we are not allowed to play together and the FPS games you mention are it. Microsoft have even carried out tests to see if it is possible. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ms-killed-pc-xbox-cross-platform-play <- Just one of many articles written about the test's.

And now they think they can do it with windows 10... Can't wait to take them back to school!
