Suggestions regarding quitting the game that triggers the 15s timer.

The entire CL thing is overblown. If someone wants to disconnect at any time during the game that's their prerogative. If FD wants to put a session timer on it so you can only log in and out X number of times per hour, that's their's. It's a video game, there are other ships. If you're facing an unplayable game because the human tendency is to be a coward and never pay a penalty for playing dangerously, then you're never going to have any fun playing online.

I honestly don't get all the complaints about combat logging. You won, so what you didn't get CR for it? Go trade some palladium.

I think 15 seconds is too short time. To prevent combat log the ship should be persistent for at least 60 secs both in case the ship is under attack or it is in safety. This way honest players would have no problems as they're either leaving their ship in a safe place or fighting to death and combat loggers would think twice before leaving their ship at enemy's mercy for a full minute.

And if the phone or door bell rings? Well, as another CMDR wrote before, there are more important things in life than a game so send to hell the ship and go after those can't-miss things.

All that would do is lead to a task manager program close. 15 seconds is about as long as anyone will wait if they are ready to leave. Since the game is P2P, there's no ghost ship to kill if the other player leaves. They don't download their ship information from your PC when they log back on.

I don't think they are that bothered about the combat logging to come up with a more sophisticated system. The game is not ultra-competitive fd has even restored ppls lost ships as a one-off.

If somebody is so desperate to not die that they combat-log by circumventing the current system by pulling the plug for example then let them. IMO better that then have them quit the game over loosing an anaconda they flew without insurance :p
