The battle of Nanomam, Large PvP battle (Empire vs Federation video)

Well, that was a disappointment. Shield cells prolonging the fight into infinity and beyond. Ramming over and over again. Yawnsville. I thought PvP was meant to be exciting!

The only thing i got from this video is that 4 pips to Sys must be worth it, because i've had 2 pips in a clipper and rammed a python like that and lost at least 2 rings (A7 shields with boosters!). Ill definitely be paying more attention to pips in collision situations in future.
Well ramming is the best way to fight shield cells, and the A7 is actually a bad choice for the Clipper as it it's over 20 million more for the A7 than the B7 and only gives about 8-10% more shield for a huge draw on power, so you wouldn't have any room for much else

Eh? So, when i make the point that Clipper shields are weak, you advocate getting even weaker shields? Interesting. I didn't find the Clipper starved for power when i flew one. I did fit the top rank powerplant though, so maybe its more of an issue if you can't afford that.

And yeah, i guess if ramming is the best way to deal with shield cells, then its the way to go... but then Clipper vs Python, weaker shields and slightly higher mass on the clipper.... if equally skilled commanders, my money would be on the Python. I guess the Python commander in the vid wasn't as hot on the pip management.

I think the best shield managment was in famouse SW TIE Fighter series. FD took pips from there, but they forgot forward-rear shield switching and ability to transfer power from weapons to shield and vice versa. I think this is the best opportunity to SCBs!
Whant to emergency shield recharge? Transfer energy from weapons. Want extra power for final shot? Lower your shields. Balance? I think so )

that would be a nice addition, all pips to shields, final push to transfer available power...

Yeah but I run big weapons like PAs, so you can't fit big guns and big shields on a clipper

I also worked it out on the shipyard, 7A only gives 5% more shield over the 7B but uses 25% more power than the 7B (4.2 for 7B and 4.9 for 7A)

Yeah pips to shields for ramming is where its at. Throw in some hull addtions in spots you are not putting SCBs and it helps dish out more punishment to who you hit/hits you too.

True, 4 pips to shields increases shield resistance by 150% i believe

Well you came here to watch a PvP video so you should know ramming is a perfectly normal part of it

Don't know a single PvP'er that will not use the opportunity when he knows it gives him an advantage. It is those that refuse to embrace and understand it is part of the game that are bothered the most by it...I have been rammed by so many ships I think I need a colonoscopy just to make sure there is no damage....
