NPC Tolling

So thee I was, pulling into Kobayashi city, just to see if prices were better than they have crashed too at Hogg, and in the last 2Mm, I got interdicted not once, not twice, but 3 FREAKING TIMES by NPCs. All within 2MM of station!!!!!!! Total and complete !!!!!!!!

Kobayashi?
Welcome to my home station, when I'm not explorating. Crack a beer, kick back and relax for a spell.
I've been planning to move further out to Suri Park, but the rent is pretty cheap here.

Jumped up to Naomam a few days ago. Got interdicted in my Python by a PP Cobra NPC. Suffice to say, thirty seconds and a dead cobra later I'm back in Supercruise.
Five seconds, I sheet you not. Five.
>>>>>> INTERDICTION WARNING <<<<<<<
Oh for the love of--
It's an Adder. I mean, seriously. Another NPC PP. In an Adder. Wants to take on a Python.
>>>>>> Submit
>>>>>> FA off, Weapons Deployed
>>>>>> Boost, Burn.
Ten seconds later, I'm back in supercruise.

I swear to god these NPC interdictions are an annoying, aggravating inconvinience.
They don't even bother with the biscuit, they take the whole damn cake.

It's jarring when you avoid one interdiction and continue seamlessly into the next. Didn't think it was possible so it made me do a double take, but it can happen. I can't count how many times I've been interdicted next to a station ready to safely drop. Suddenly interdicted, pulled to the right, whats that zooming towards me? Planets surface. Cool.

I take you haven't yet been attacked within 10km yet then and followed to the edge of the no fire zone?

now that's really fun :D

It's strange, I have been playing on the Xbox for the last two weeks, flying a Cobra with no shields or weapons. I get interdicted on average once a day, some sessions I never get interdicted.

Am wondering if combat rank plays a big part? I am yet to fire a single shot on this account, purely smuggling - no kills and I never stay in the same system, constantly moving around inhabited space.

Even more fun is having a psychotic AI system security vessel start chasing you all the way INTO the station, shooting the whole time, while never scanning you once. And of course the station and the other security vessels ignore it...

Personally - I love it!

If an NPC fails to interdict you - they'll try again... and again and again!

If you can't fight them you can draw them to a station and let their guns take them out (NPC's are stoopid like that :) ).

Docked at an outpost once, to get rid of a stupid 200cr friendly fire fine.
A security vessel scans me and opens fire while I'm on the landing pad. Never remember what happened to that guy.

Leave your powerplay faction.

Actually, he fired me INTO the no fire zone, and the station just sat there "herpaderp" and did NOTHING. I got out of sight and landed, dropped cargo, refueled, repaired, came out, and there was that SAME DAMN SECURITY VESSEL firing at me AGAIN! Boosted, jumped, left it behind. And as far as the guy that said change faction, Kobayashi is currently being exploited BY my faction.

woop woop, sarah Jayne has done an amazing job with the AI ..... , kinda gets boring shooting super noob NPC`s. Although it`s still very funny when a sidey tries to take out my fully kitted out conda....

I don't love that at all. If they fail at an interdiction they should be dropped from supercruise and seated with an FSD cooldown just like players are. That they cheat in order to force an interdiction on the player seems like a poor design to me. If, as you imply, that is what is happening.

Had a similar situation recently. In fact I thought it was fun - as it was all the time the same NPC. Made it somewhat challenging and realistic.

The correct way to deal with evading an NPC or player who you have submitted to an interdiction or lost an interdiction is to fight or to hyperspace jump away, not return to SC where the npc or player will just follow you. The Boost Boost SC means of circumventing interdictions was never intended as a valid means of gameplay and the NPC's have been coded to follow you if you're going to make it brain dead easy.

I hope every player who boost boost SC's gets harassed by NPC's until they unlearn this horrible way of playing. Equip weapons or get used to having to _actually_ run.

I get interdicted at almost every single station and almost on every entry to a system.
I can't keep jumping to another system to escape or I won't be able to land anywhere unless I'm lucky.
Fighting every single npc interdiction will mean I can't get anything done.

Well, I don't know if they cheat or not - I'm usually too busy to put a stopwatch on them...

But I do like the idea that trading aint as safe as people say. There should be NO risk free credit earning strategys in Elite.

I have noticed that interdictions are way up for me starting today but this is not an inherently bad thing IMO. It just means more bad guys to kill as I mosey thru my day.

The only drawback that I have run into so far is that I am getting Vultures and Clippers which are a bit more of a challenge to have dealt with before the cops show up and scan me. This ends up earning me a bounty that is only 3/4 of what the fine turns out to be. Oh well, at least my combat rating will creep up a little.
