NOOOOOOOO return trip from Sag A on hold

I'm just about 2kly into my return trip from Sag A.....been having weird issues getting websites to load all morning, needing loads of refreshes and reloading. I manage to get the game running but it was taking an AAAAAAAGE to drop out of FSD to every star. So I quit out and see if I can fix things with a hub reboot, makes things worse I can't even get past the launcher now it just hangs and crashes at various points but never gets to the game anymore.

Played other games like Project CARS and Alien Isolation no problems, even redownloaded C&C 3+4 with no problems at normal speeds, speedtests all show normality once I get the test pages to load. Raceroom racing also fails to work. Elite and R3E need constant server connection so is that my issue? I think I'm getting constant micro drops but then things reconnect immediately it seems. Just no good for Elite :( bummed.

It could be constant microdrops, had some issues with that a while back, and it definitely affects ED. Sorry for your troubles, Commander - hope you get it fixed soon!

Thanks :)
May I ask how it was resolved for you?

Mine had to do with interference (computer is next to an old concrete and steel chimney) on the wifi, cabling it solved it for me. Probably not much help, sorry  But the ED servers are definitely sensitive, but STEAM usually is as well - have you tried downloading something through STEAM? If it's micro drops it would be easy to tell then.

ah, Steam works fine I redownloaded a couple of games to test and all ok. Iposted on the BT support forums and someone said this:

TCP connections aren't reliably getting established. ICMP and UDP packets seem just fine, hence no packet loss on a ping test. Once a TCP session is established, it stays open forever. This is why browsing is stalling for people - http/https runs over TCP. I'm losing about 5% of all TCP connection attempts.

Not sure what that means but I hope BT fix the issue soon!!

good news, I got back into Elite just now.....took ages for the launcher to work, took ages to load once I clicked "play game" but I just left it and it eventually worked!! Woohoo getting my Elite fix!

5% is quite bad :( Hope they fix it soon!

Been having the exact same issues (An actual BT customer) for the past couple of days.

It's like dial-up days... websites taking an age to resolve, and E: D launcher seeming unresponsive. Frustrating!

And, when I finally coaxed E: D into life, the looongest jumps ever. :p

Hope they get on top of it soon!

Is yours sorted mate? Mine seems fine.

At fixing issues (I'm sure you can get faster speeds there than in dinky ol' Denmark as well :)) - took them nearly a month to get me a new router when the old one needed to be restarted 10-15 a day

Looking at the BT forums many would say it wasn't a fast fix!! ;) I lost the internet for about a month this time last year when an underground cable had an issue and had to be replaced! Gawd knows how I coped with that!
