I'm starting to miss my kitted Viper. I've been flying around in a fully upgraded vulture for a while now and while it is a truly competent combat ship, there is just something about the Viper that is just so much fun. I could sell just my 5a shields on my Vulture and have a fully upgraded viper without having to use any of my current credit balance. Suggestions anyone? Is there something else I should try and fit for combat instead? Already did the Cobra, not a fan, and diamond scout is my exploration ship, didn't like it much for combat.

Lol ya this is very true, I wouldn't actually sell the vulture just the shield as that alone is worth 5 million, but you're right I probably should just spend an hour or 2 in a RES and get the funds.

Only problem with that is I'm currently ranking up with the federation and I'm pledged to Hudson lol. People won't take to kindly to my type doing missions in their space
After flying the Vulture, the Viper will feel like crap. Go for the Courier, its an awesome Python killer.

Seeing as you can only fly one ship at a time and you don't currently lose anything buying and selling modules, go for it. I do it all the time. I have a similar love of the Cobra but my main ship is a Python. When I want to fly the Cobra I strip a few modules off the Python and spend the credits on the Cobra. When I have enought to have bothe fully fitted out I won't need to chop and change modules. It won't take you long to earn enough to buy and kit out the Viper outright.

I went from my Viper to a Vulture, and then after a while I re-purchased and kitted out a Viper again. So much more fun for me than the Vulture.
I did try a Courier in the middle there, it's a really nice ship, but for me it couldn't replace the Viper. I just recently sold a bunch of my gear and got a Fer De Lance. But I still have my Viper. And still go back to her from time to time.

Courier is really better than viper and i don't know how to say it but i have almost the same feeling when i fly the courier like in my old viper. As for npc's they are way easier to take down in courier than in viper.Oh really? P.S. this is my fit and is good for pvp or assassination missions:
To me the biggest issue with the Vulture is just a bit OP in most circumstances, great for making money real fast but other than getting swarmed by wings there's not a lot of risk, so I'll build a Viper for RES and CZ work with just the basics (sometimes with a small FSD to get to the RES or CZ)

Sure, the Vulture can turn on a dime but it putters around like a gokart.
This is why I happily fly my Cobra and my Clipper. I need that speed...I need the rush!
(Also, being able to get out of any scrape too big for your britches is always a good thing)

Serf is rather easy to get right now just so you know. Go to Tamar and do a few charity missions and you will be good to go. Pretty much, it's actually a little embarrassing but I was bested by a player in a cobra this morning. See I could take their shields down rather quickly but since they could outrun me every time I dropped their shields and do a bit of hull damage they would run, let there shields recharge and then come back. Being in the much slower vulture I didn't have that option. If I could have kept up to his ship I would have destroyed him quite quickly, instead after a few back and forths I ran out of shield cell banks and lost the battle.

I'm not an iship fan but if I were to fly one it would be the Courier. Like the Diamondback Scout I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Ya I mean Im trying to rank up with the federation right now in the hopes that the gunship is really good when it's released. I'm at midshipman and it's taking a very long time. But I suppose I could get to serf grab a courier and then go back to working with the federation
viper for life...i have my fully kitted vulture parked around jupiter waiting for a new viper version,just like they're doing with the fed dropship. this is my dream...a new viper more powerful, with a big HP and 2 or 3 medium...bigger and engaging as it is now...i have to master the mobility in dogfights...the vulture it's just too ''fake'' and we really need a vulture killer.
I'm thinking this is probably the best choice. I really love my Vulture it just feels almost too easy against NPCs.
