Good!
Same thing should be done between Azaleach and Saga... ;)

But don't routes vary based on your FSD outfitting? How can we be sure of how many and which stops the Capital Ship would have taken?

Yes, noted previously. Economical is however always the same, and the way NPC seem to bimble around, is not out of the realm of possibility.

Can someone be a sport and check Leonard Nimoy

I got some more tests done this evening:

* I Bootis - https://youtu.be/t1iiqtgctH8
* Dustball, next to Maher Stellar Research (in I Bootis) - https://youtu.be/0EriGJFMQxY
* HIP 35900 - https://youtu.be/WNnzkK9d3MI
* Heike 8 - https://youtu.be/vrwRBzApRA4
* Baltah'sine 4b gourmet Vacuum Krill dinner - http://youtu.be/bo-vaZOmGL4

I also tried find the right WSS in BD-02 4304 to do the "corpse test" (typical WSS, except the canisters are identified as "corpse" - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=164228). I spent about an hour hunting, no luck finding one. That might be a better test for a Wing to be involved in (more WSS to check & the UA bearer can stay parked in station until one is found & a wing beacon is dropped). It was unpleasant trying to keep one eye on the Cargo Hatch's HP & the other on the Nav tab for WSS.

What little is left of our collective sanity has been retained.

Thanks for testing again. You are as efficient a tester as you are a hunter.

I will not push for a new test deep inside the ice ring of Baltah'sine 4b ice ring (ice-roids on the scanner). It's to risky. I will save that one for when I have my own UA :)

Can't rep you, but I appreciate what you do.

Well, in any event, the space between Azaleach and Saga perhaps makes the most sense, since Galnet reports that it was delegates from Saga that were left waiting. Note no reports from delegates in Azaleach saying the she never arrived, only Saga, indicating that the President did make it to Azaleach.

“Two days ago, Navy Command received word that the President would be taking an unscheduled detour to Azaleach. Her reasons as to why remain classified. 12 hours ago, following entry into hyperspace, Spaceflight One went dark. All attempts by the President’s security team to trace the vessel have met with failure.”

President Misses Meeting

Reports coming in from Saga indicate that the President has missed her scheduled meeting with delegates aboard Zudov Terminal. Maisy Stevenson, the leader of the Saga Republic Party, expressed her concern to GalNet in the following statement:

“We were expecting Starflight One to arrive a little under 38 hours ago. An escort was sent to meet Starflight One at the prearranged location, but the ship simply didn’t appear. We informed Mars and were told that the President had decided to take a last-minute detour.”

“I understand the President’s time is precious, but it would have been nice to get a little bit of advance notice. The people of Saga spent a not inconsiderable amount of time and credits preparing to greet the President, and now their hard work appears to have gone to waste. I do hope that the President manages to find time for us in her seemingly busy schedule. I would hate to think that the people of Saga had in some way been snubbed by Halsey.”

So, I note here there is another station mentioned, Zudov at Saga. Has anyone taken an artefact here yet for testing?

Maybe scientists at Zudov were told to expect an incoming shipment of weird stuff for study.

As it is, I'm still searching Azaleach-adjacent HIP 30130, which appears to be on the route to Saga. There are federal convoys in this system. One of them blew me up after I attacked the Type 9. There are a lot of Founder/Elite missions available at Azaleach, so I take those, which for some reason point at HIP 30130, and if I spot a signal along the way, I stop and check.

What equipment do you all recommend to successfully bring in an artefact? Right now, my strategy is find a convoy, attack the Type 9, hit the cargo hatch, and if an artefact pops out, grab it before the Anacondas blow me up. Is there a less risky way of doing this?

As another thought, is there any correlation between having either Elite or Founder status and finding artefacts?

Do we know the rank of each pilot who has found an artefact? Or can anyone find them?

Also, since the artefact is super secret, perhaps the only way to unlock a prospective Bulletin Board mission is to have access to Elite/Founder missions?

I am Elite Explorer, and have seen one in the Wild
Missions are listed if you have the rank or not, just in the unavailable section, so the likelihood of super secret missions seems negligible to me.

I have come up with an experiment for anyone in possession of a UA. A bit of a test on its communication skills. If it copies the local Nav beacon by blinking out the local system's name then how about a ship activating it's beacon by the UA and listening to determine if the UA's sound output changes?

Also a of question not answers.... Is finding a UA purely by chance in SSS or is it partly determined by the commander's combat or exploration rank or ship? I guess I'd have to search in a 200 LY radius area from known UA discovery sites?

The chance of a SSS is proportional to your bloodymindedness. It took me over 100 hours to spot my one and only. Is limited by rank ? I seriously doubt it.

I can't find a COL 285 Sector KI-R C5-7, not a sector k anything.

I did spend some hours yesterday in the Halsey area, but I got despondant quickly (saw nothing out of the ordinary either) so I came back to Timocani.

Edit: if the UA does have a function, it should work anywhere.

I KNOW - I found it while searching around in a lazy circular pattern roughly 75 ly from Azaleach .... trying to count the star systems roughly 75 ly from it..... and had a ens of a time re-finding it,,,, the cartographics map was giving me grief in recognizing things. I was hoping it was just me .. I even typed in a system next to me and it wouldn't come up ..... Its roughly North of the galactic plane .... will give better directions later when i can get at the game if you are interested

That's why I'm still not convinced you actually need to have a UA in order to solve this. It's obviously an important prop, but I'm not certain that holding a UA is necessarily the key, otherwise surely they wouldn't have made it so blooming hard to find one (/steal one/scoop one/keep one/know what to do with one....)

But then relying on someone who did find one to take the time to record it using shadow play, upload it onto Youtube and share it with the rest of the community is also risky strategy from Frontier.

One would have thought Frontier made the mystery a bit more obvious. An we have been told it obvious.
