Nerf crowd about to ruin the game again

Dont nerf the SCBs, they are the last resource to keep you alive so you can esc.

How about showing some skill in judgement and learning when to bail out in time? SCBs are at their core health potions, health potions have always been terrible mechanics only aimed at making a game easier and compensating for your mistakes.
The PVE part of the game is already too easy, and SCBs don't bring anything of value to PVP, so something should be done about them.

You still have to use skill and judgement when to fire the cells - and when to bail out when you finally have to. SCBs just mean that happens later so it takes a bit longer.. don't see the problem.

Leave them in take them out - whatever.

This pretty much fixes the problem in one go. It also allows choices between using an A scb with few bigger charges or a B scb with more smaller charges.

I hope so but I have yet to see them refuse when the nerf-bat PvP crowd called to them and shouted louder than everybody else.

You are right to call it out, but abandon all hope. Sandro spent months openly nerfing PvE for the sake of PvP, expect more of the same. It's not a game you see... it's a "simulation".

I will not be sad to see the back of shield potions. The idea behind the shield potion is sound -- give the non-combatants/less rich time to get away -- but the implementation was about as slap-dash as it gets and as a result it makes the rich nigh on invincible, sans that rather ludicrous situation where two shield potion spammers bounce off each other all day long. There are better ways to help out the non-coms/less rich than this and over the months many of those suggestions have been made on this forum.

Of course, if shield potions do change/go then it'll mean I'll need to alter my sig but that's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make. :p

No this thread is just someone trying to justify the ridiculous mechanic because the majority of the player base gave been complaining about it.

And this is the sort of post that drives these threads by making unsubstantiated claims about the wishes of the "majority" of the playerbase.

Just read this thread and you can see what the majority think. It is over whelmingly in favour of just 1 scb per ship, and this is a thead defending their use as it is the only way to win 1v5 NPC fights...

Now things are getting interesting ..

So DC83, now you not only want your voice to be heard above all others, you also want one of the fundamental aspects of the game - PVP removed because you (and so far in this thread, you alone) don't like it? And please stop with the "it wasn't in the original games". Hell the original Elite didn't have colour and was wireframe, should we go back to that as well?

Touting PvP as a "fundamental aspect of the game" is a bit self serving. :p
Judging by the complaints about solo mode, lots of people don't really seem to care becoming victims.

Let's cut another mail slot at the other end of the station so we don't meet outgoing ships as we are approaching, and no need to rotate to leave.

this would be actually quite logical thing to do, separate IN, OUT solution is widely used even now
but ED has its heritage to carry so probably 1 slot will stay

Dear FD,

I'm getting really tired of this.

Now they're talking about killing SCBs, and those are a critical part of PvE.

Haha! I bet you're serious too.

So yeah, a "critical part of PvE". Let me translate this for you: "I need shield potions which the NPCs don't use so I can play in easy mode and farm NPCs".

Well sod that noise. PvE should be about experiencing a living, breathing galaxy. The NPCs need to feel like people, not rats for you to farm.

1. What is this impending SCB nerf people are speaking of? I couldn't find any recent post by the usual suspects (Michael, Sandro, Ed and Zac) about the topic?
2. Yay if true. Hopefully they will limit it to 1 SCB per ship!

Haha I'am not surprised at this.

FD' decisisions do not rest of other judgements rather than where the wind blows and are totally unsrcutiable.

Cheers Cmdr's

OP - I really don't get your point. SCB are useful but absolutely unnecessary for PvE.
I'll be happy without them in game.
Current PvP meta - whomever has more SCBs wins is ridiculous.

what Kremmen wrote is crucial - here other thread
