First neutron star + black hole region

Well I just found my first neutron star (the thing is tiny!) completely by accident as I was hunting down a region full of black holes systems that I found simply skimming the galmap. No-one has a tag on anything I have found so far so I am hoping this is a novel find. I know there is a post on the so called neutron fields, but has anyone come across a BH field before?

well what do you know... no I've just found my first white dwarf as well, and to sweeten the pot, it was a BH binary. I am loving this find right now.

When you find an area like that - hang around as there tends to be a few sights to see in the local vicinity. I've got a 'badlands' area I'm going to head back to (16KLY out from Sol) once I make the move. I found them on my first run out and did not appreciate what I'd found, I regret not mapping every system now, but I will.

I'm writing them down as I go. There are quite a lot of white dwarfs and neutrons in the vicinity. First real good find I've had this entire trip. I'll probably share the region when I get back with all the first discovery rights cha ching! :D

I'm half way to Sag A* and just came across my first Neutron, it was so tiny just looked like I'd jumped into an empty system. It had two water worlds orbiting it to :)

Tiny aren't they. I thought my game had bugged out until it loaded the warning sphere of canopy death.

I haven't noticed that they have any gravity lensing, but the white dwarfs do...

It sounds like you are in one of the 4 Neutron fields - They are also BH fields. You will find millions (potentially billions) of black holes in the neutron fields. On average I was finding 1 blackhole for every 3 Neutron stars, all spaced around 4LY from each other.

Ah, I think you're probably right. Looks like I'm in the eastern field above the plane. Just looked for the neutron field thread and was a bit shocked to find out just how massive they are! At least this run will turn in some much needed cash though...

I'm 55,000 LY out from the bubble.. found nothing special and very bored now, don't even know if I can be bothered to return..

I've already scanned them mate, almost back to the bubble to claim my reward ;)

you only get the first discovery if you're the first to sell the data (think that's right?) I got to Sag A about three weeks ago and am slowly making my way back through one of the neutron star fields, not found a discovered system (or seen another ship) in over 2 weeks, got a couple of thousand systems with the majority being so far undiscovered but I'm planning on this being a slow journey back so wouldn't be surprised if some of them have already been scanned and sold by the time I get back to habited space

I know what you mean. It took me so long to get to Sag A with my measly 20ly range that after I just couldn't face going back and quit for a while. Now that I've found this neutron field I'm farming neutron stars, white dwarfs and black holes for cash, hoping that I find something weird along the way.

Yes you get the first discovery rights if you are the first to turn the data in. The field is huge, so hopefully no-one has traversed the area I am in at the moment. I guess I will find out when you turn in your chips though eh?
