Am I mental? Powerplay is really amazing right now

I am having a hard time choosing a power, I have been really hesitant to join, but mostly because I have a loosely defined personality for my pilot and he's a loyal type, so once the choice is made, that'll be an end. Unless of course the power goes against my principles, then there will be vengeance!

Check out the reddit pages of everyone too, to get an idea of who does what in PP land. There are loads of groups, and there is the potential for groups to be powers one day too, so supporting them might be an option.

Also, its cool not to join! You can support powers indirectly, or benefit from them without any of this.

But the bottom line: enjoy what you do! If you treat ED like an Excel spreadsheet then it will be no more fun than that! Get out and interact, there are loads of pilots and get creative!

I haven't played PP, but personally I'd just side with the pretty one with dark hair. Don't know why.

Yup! Play it for grinding CC and getting map inches and you are going to have weeks of ... erm not very entertaining game play and lots of number crunching. Or you can have adventures and blaze a trail.

I'm in a similar boat. I avoided pledging to a power until the last couple of weeks, then joined Aisling to participate in Operation Davy Jones... and I've been pleasantly surprised to find I'm enjoying it immensely.

The only downside is that I can't seem to find Archon CMDRs opposing Davy Jones anywhere... so it gets a tad lonely.

You will need to play in open for that :p

There aren't that many of us, buy I suggest visiting resistance pockets if you want a fight.

This is true if you're power has numbers and is not under severe pressure. Then you have to grind and it can become boring.

Saying that, I have enjoyed the last week and the latest merit changes have helped.

Yeah, being the punching bag of many other factions gets wearing. Fortunately we're beginning to find our feet and have done well defending our space, no matter what those nasty Imperials say. ;)

(No offense Imperial friends)

This is a shame. We're out there. Perhaps we can arrange a time to meet in combat. We've spent alot of time in combat the last couple of days and flew several wings Friday evening which was alot of fun. Very few of us use solo, most of us are in open. There's just few of us :D

Perhaps I need stronger medication, but Powerplay for me is really hitting the spot:

In Utopia we have a grand project for a deep space colony along with Sirius, a shadowy group who so far have helped us expand, this same group might be turning on fellow Utopians in a chilling twist, climbing to number 9, and the prospect of further gains.

It's been a rollercoaster of desperation, joy, disappointment, intrigue, mystery....the grind has disappeared into the background as some role play takes over.

We have action, suspense, deception and.......fun.

I know I'm going to be wrapped up in loony foil for saying it but I'm really liking Powerplay right now.

You're not mental, you're just one of the 18% that actually enjoy PP. That's all.

It'd be wise for them to record the PP development and use it as a Background Sim to keep changing the Universe. Eventually those 1 in 5 will get bored and move onto other interesting features like CQC. Else ED's balance of powers will slow down to a halt in the near future (i.e. Star Wars then S.C.)

Enjoying PP? You Role Players are out of your mind, put your feet on the ground. In all my years serving StarFleet in human space i have never seen so many people role playing like nerds, it is illogical :)). Live long and prosper cmdrs. By the way , have any of you found Andorian Ale??

It's funny, is it just me or are the only people who seem genuinely happy about PP the Utopians?

Perhaps the Ethos is balanced?
Perhaps PP appeals to the mindset of some one who would back Utopia?
Perhaps Antal is easy to relate to in his quest for peace?

As some one who hates the whole idea that the galaxy is at war, I think I support Antal's cuase even though I will never pledge. He seems to want peace, and the best way to bring peace back would be to undo the Powerplay update. I can relate to that.

My Admiral advises:

If you would like an end to War, Commander Derthek, join us.

We deliver swift and decisive justice against all those who do not, ultimately, demand peace.

Simply advise us of the planet at fault Captain. We will level them.

Fly hard and live long.

Peace through Force (Rights reserved.)

No ^^
I'm with ALD and, eventhough I do not actively play PP (I voted "no" to that poll), I quite enjoy some of the changes it brings to the Bubble.

Hello Rubbernuke,

I am glad you enjoy PP, fulfilling a longer term objective, and having meaning for simple tactical actions is something PP excels at. I get that from the . I think if I had not started that, I would have left the game, or drifted until PP and joined Mahone.
Jf you do stuff, PP can be a little overwhelming when it comes to your area, and undo months of work by a group of players in a couple of weeks. No idea how many of us (I expect the percentage makes 18% look good), but the new freedom fighter role, when implemented looks really good fun and exactly what I want to manage the affects of PP on the in my area.

Carry on enjoying PP, whilst its not for me, and has affected my gameplay a lot, I have to say 18% of people are not interacting with the , that is an awful lot more than in 1.2 and is a good thing.

if you never played a sandbox or anything better, sure it is . just like crysis was amazing compared to pong
