has anyone ever tried to take it to Sirius system? Or at least searched the Sirius system for hints ?

"The Antares vanished during its maiden voyage in the Sirius system in 3251 ... "
not sure if Sirius was on the route of Halsey, but that is pretty much a simple test .. if someone has the permit.

Also in the community goal it said:
"One last contact with the President came from the XX system, just 75 ligth years from our current position. Unfortunately, information provided by the Sirius Corporation and Core Dynamics suggests that Starship One could now be anywhere within at least a 200 light year radius of Azaleach."
and
"It is hoped that Universal Cartographic will be able to use any anomalies that may have appeared since the last scan of the area to determine the whereabouts of Starship One."

Sirius is within the 200y radius. it is a permit system. it was the place of the Antares accident. Maybe something is there and a new test may give another clue.
I don't have the permit and not enough time to get it in time.

is the hint the "unlock" bit?????

Is a UA a 12 pin tumbler lock?

The chitin-like bit on the head could very well slide open to let a key in.....

What could we use for a key??????

Is there anything in the game which is long and skinny?

I took it there previously but went back during tonight's testing to grab another recording & search. Didn't find anything new or special. No unidentified nav points or special missions.

I say its a Probe. Its not dying or exploding. It travels away when it finishes its cycle.

The video we have of this is bad, it wasnt planned out.

Something happens to it and space around it. It is traveling home or to next location its supposed to go. I think they travel home.
Or possibly they become Nav Becons that stay in subspace.

I am interested in seeing what happens in detail. Detail. As much detail as we can get.

2 separate experiments of this.

One With a ship in front of it with FDS powering up, and then another without so can get better recording of the space warp it makes.
I would like to do the without ship first then with the ship with FDS powering up second.
So, when you align with, assuming the head is the front, and now select systems in the nav panel, does one system pops up that indicated its destination? or close to it? if not, maybe one in the galaxy map that follow that path?
.
Can you wing up with it and slave your FSD to it

"Succeed or not, it will unlock" .........

Unlock ...what?

Have we missed a locked system?

What else might be unlocked?.........

The docking bays on some outposts?

Anything else locked????

Well we'll know when it unlocks as I get the feeling it'll make galnet news......

I already said this before. Even if no one figures out the UA or what it is or what it does. Its not like the devs wont let what happens next until we figure out the UA.
At the rate of how all the tests are going we would never find out what they are. We did find out the Morse code which was cool.

I am glad if one is found by the Mobius group it will get the experiment I have been asking for.

I think it should be done where the voyagers was last seen. This because it does have morse and that ships horn sound. I think the UA is a probe of some kind. And it has something to do with the voyages missing.

HAs anyone tried sending the message. Per aspera ad astra thats the message on the voyager gold record in morse code and then a ships horn blast along with a bunch of other sounds.

The message "Per aspera ad astra" Translates to "Through hardships to the stars"

Has anyone tried morse to the UA either of those messages?

Waaaay back in I dunno Feb? On one of the redditt forums, someone was asking about what looked like the entrance to a docking bay on a coriolis station (the letter box thing) but they were on various outposts..... You can't get into them by any known means. If I remember right...speculation was that they were for something later on in the game....

Have we tried one of these with a UA on board? I'll try and find the post but it might be tricky....

Found one for an example.....http://imgur.com/tYzx0zC

found another one https://40.media.tumblr.com/0d149df6f5160f383a552363de496e4f/tumblr_nke1u27sXG1rt193wo1_1280.png

Hm.....I haven't for a while but that was back when I didn't have a UA nor did anyone had even found one.

I hate to try to give you more things to do - I don't know how you put up with the constant string of demands...

But.....

That is a locked thing..... that we haven't tried. If you could find the time, then we could mark another thing off the list...or........you could become famous!!!!!

Tried it a couple weeks back with a UA onboard. Bounced right off it.

UA LOST. =(

While attempting to force malfunctions very close to a star.

I think I may have been able to recover if I hadn't been in supercruise.

Key point, yes close to a star you can force tons of module malfunctions, but obviously (in hindsight) a cargo hatch malfunction is possible and isn't ideal.

Back to Timocani I go. =(

While you were testing did you do a reboot just before launch ? https://youtu.be/cl0EMKfFmr8 I tried it - and while it didnt do any exciting misjumps for me... i did get the reboot to happen while jumping ...

Btw guys are there any arguements to say that it's not a beacon of some kind?

Well its not a wing beacon or a nav beacon, bitstorm and I tested that. It could be either if you have a Thargoid ship, but we don't.

I think this process has proved that setting clues to puzzles, and indeed designing puzzles, is a very specific and particular skill which is much harder that it seems to the amateur. If your puzzlers are no closer to a solution, and are still at the random guess stage, after 3 months, there is something wrong with your clues.

Indeed.

Could the Kerrash comment be taken from the viewpoint of the UA?

Ie - whether or not it succeeds in its mission, it will activate.

We have video of what happens when it activates - all we need is a situation in which that would be useful (to someone)

I think you are correct.

UA scans, does not find what it's looking for and leaves to scann somwhere else.

It does not die when it expires. I don't know it it hyper-spaces out or if it's the octopus ink trick.
I have a feeling it travels in normal space.

I also think there are two creatures(at least) in the UA.
I don't think they are Thargoids, but who knows.

Causing miss jump is possibly a side effect of the type of drive the UA uses.

Edit: The single component that fails, causing miss jump is probably the drive slaving component.
Is it possible that the Antares had several drives slaved together, like the Hart of Darkness?
