Why is the Lifetime expansion pass back for sale?

"It'll be gone forever" was used as an incentive to make people buy it, the fact it is back now just seems wrong to me.

Just to be clear, I grant FD every dime it makes. Its not my intend to withhold others the ability to buy it.
KS perks were offered and seem to be gone forever, same happened to the Alpha perks. If Beta perks are back for sale now, why not the others? I missed a couple of those :(

Just checked. Bought it for 30€ last year. So quite cheaper.

I'm actually more concerned that the store page for the base game, https://www.frontierstore.net/games/elite-dangerous-cat/elite-dangerous.html , makes no mention of expansions at all. Thus people can be justifiably surprised when they find out they didn't actually purchase the full, forever, game. Someone at FD should get on that, add a blurb about "some truly major features in the future will require an additional purchase, although this base game will always be updated with more minor features and all bug fixes", or the like.

FTR: I'm a Premium Beta backer and, given the high price, I have no issue with the Expansion Pass being back on sale.

its £130!!!!

which is what....... £90 more than before? I do not think anyone who got it back in KS or back in beta can complain too much. I am frankly shocked at the prices of the DLC but at the same time slightly encouraged as it should mean AAA quality content. (either that or no one will be buying season 2 ;) )

I could not agree more.... something alone the lines of

"Horizons is the 1st expansion in our highly acclaimed space simulator and will consist of multiple updates over the course of the season. You can buy this for the discounted price of £30, OR why not consider our Lifetime Season Pass and know that you are covered for all of our expansions over the life of the game?"

Store page of the base game also doesn't say you can land on planets. It's only confusing if you are a bit picky about it. Still, now they have expansions, blurb would be welcome, yes.

Afaik I remember pass being so popular that they even stretched out it's exit a month. And for so much lower price...I fail to see how anyone can complain.

I bought it back then. Considering what it costs now i don't feel cheated at all.
Let FD cash in. More money for them is no bad thing as long they keep at devloping this game further.
From what i saw in that trailer they are devloping the game pretty damn good!

I want a station with my dads name on it, or an NPC wearing it. I want to pay a lot of money for it, but I can't buy it anymore. I missed that train, it was an Alpha perk and its gone now.

I'm not complaining, but don't sell something as a Beta perk, only to re-introduce it again after a year. Re-introduce the Alpha perks as well. I got money right here.
