Well after a smeg load of issues with my BT connection (thankfully seems to be sorted now) I can post a few more piccies, currently I'm farting about in a group of Neutron stars, they're not photogenic! But these are from earlier.

Grats on Sag A*. I'm heading there right now, but i keep finding crazy stuff on the way, and i'm thinking to go back to get my tags, and then rush back the first 10Kly.
I'm about 2KLYs out from Sag A* and I've had this exact thought every day for the last two weeks

That's why I spent about 2-3 days in the mini neutron field!! I REALLY had to break out of my exploring mindset to get back into jump/honk/scoop, jump/honk/scoop!! I still get caught up on occasional interesting systems! Hardest thing for me is the fact that I don't know when I'll be in this region of space again! That thought makes me stop and explore where I am!

I think i just found something, it's a "mini" neutron field with thousands of white dwarves too, very far from the bigger proper neutron fieldsand completly unclaimed. Not only I'm about to leave for vacation, but here there are thousands of white dwarves to tag, it will take weeks. So my trip to Sag A* is officially cancelled, here i found something to explore and not sightsee, and i will have enough sensible data not to risk continuing north.
Reaching Sag is an accomplishment, but as a long range explorer i think it's more interesting to discover uncharted sectors, and altough i tried it's very difficult to calm the cuorisity on my way to the core, all those nebulae and clusters...

I'm on my way to Sag A for the third attempt. I'm doing the jump/honk/scoop thing telling myself not to stop til I get there. But I do find a system I scan every now and then. I'm not but maybe 3kly from Lave but it's farther than I have been. Once cqc launches I know I can stay out longer since it's something that can break the long haul up. Definitely determined this time.
I completed Sag A also on my second attempt. sigh
My first attempt ended 3kly from the core where after feeling a little cocky and invincible decided to take some holiday snaps around a lovely pink ringed gas giant.
This didn't end well for me as i decided to get creative and try some arty shots of said pink doomster.
I actually have some picture of the moment I blew up...
1st picture of the lovely giant which caused my doom
2nd picture of me noticing i'm actually blowing up
3rd picture of the last thing I saw before said doom
I cried, sulked, shouted and sobbed. 3Ly from Sag-A and I got killed around a pinky.
My first attempt ended 3kly from the core where after feeling a little cocky and invincible decided to take some holiday snaps around a lovely pink ringed gas giant.

Keep at it! It wasn't easy for me as I have no patience whatsoever!! But I'm glad I got there in the end.....I'm BLAZING a fast trail back now!!

That's why I have no piccies in an asteroid field!!
I'm Blazing home! 4kylies Tuesday, 5 kylies Wednesday....so far today I've done almost 8 kylies and plan a couple more tonight!!!

Ohboy, since I have no shields, I won't roll the dice with rings anymore.
Did it once, lived to tell the tale, no need to push my luck.
Phew......made it back and sold me data for 43 million!! Not bad considering a LOT of the trip was speeding through and not exploring systems, just honking and running. I thought I'd be able to give some love to Alien Isolation and my racing sims but.................must.....resist........Elite!!!

I am about halfway to Sag A in my own attempt and at this rate the overheats, close drops etc has my ship modules at 80%-90% and projecting forward I will scrape into dock on my return with my feet on the wind-shield and holding ropes attached to all the broken off bits on my Asp.
I already lost all my refeuling drones (for rescues on the way) because of cargo hatch malfunctions and already burned through half my coolant in emergency overheats. Also almost run out of fuel at one time and fumed my way to a oasis star in the middle of a red dwarf desert. I have the Fuel Rats number on emergency dial now!
But it is good to hear you made it! Gives the rest of us that little bit of extra oomph! to get there and back in one piece.
Fly safe and godspeed on the way to your Elite status!

If it's any comfort to anyone else on this journey, I'm OMW to Sadge myself right now, down in the outer Neutron Fields a little over 14 kylie out from the bubble and 4k off to the right--and I'm carrying 16 limpets just in case a call comes in. I know for a fact that another Rat just got to SagA* last night, and there are a minimum of two or three others scattered around deep space as well.
