I'm in the chilling cave and I've moved the rock of to the right hand pressure pad with the ice wall, but the rock will not break the ice wall, been trying for ages, please help!

Use the rock...
Use the rock from the left side of the cave where you stand on top of the button and a round rock falls from above. Gust it to the ice barrier and use a vortex (gust rock in midair and then pinch to create one) then use a side gust to swipe the rock to shatter the ice barrier.
I know your feel, bro that's why when I found out how to get past this, I want to help anyone else who faced this problem.

Here's the walkthrough for the Chilling Cave - hopefully it will get you going again.
CHILLING CAVE
Zigzag over Toku to make an easy landing. At the bottom of the cliff is a Melodia Idol. Light to torch to the left with the one to the right. Watch out for the Scorpio here. You can burn it up with fire. Light the next torch and use the flames to take out the Water Glorbs.
Once you have done this, use a Slipstream to hit the wooden gate with flames. Now that this is gone, move past it. Up here, go to the left. Stand on the switch and a Rock will drop from above. Take the Rock over to the right hand side of the screen, over the platforms.
You will come to a switch with an ice barrier next to it. Break the barrier with the Rock, then head through. Use the mushroom to reach the raised ledge. Here you will see another Rock behind a shut door. Use Gust to move the Rock over the top of the tall platform here.
Now that you have the Rock, place it on the switch below. This is will open the nearby door. Go through the door and use the mushroom to gain height. To the right you will see a Beacon. Fire it up then light the torch to the left. As soon as you are finished, your work in this section is done.
Go back down to the ground and taking the Rock with you, head over to the left. Place the Rock on the switch here and use the mushroom to move upwards. Deal with the Water Glorbs and continue to the right.
You will come to an unlit torch and the camera will pan out. You should be able to see the torch that you lit on the other side. Use a Slipstream to move fire through the narrow gap in the wall. You will now have a torch lit on this side of the wall.
Light the next torch and from here destroy the wooden barrier. Use the mushroom to get up to the next level. Here you will find a Journal Page. Proceed to the left and just as you come to the bridge, a Garb will appear. The Garb is a lot of Glorbs merged together into a Super-Glorb. Create a snowball and throw it at the Garb. Repeat this until it explodes. Hitting it on the head or from behind seems to work best.
Once the Garb (and Glorbs) are gone, head over the bridges and leave the screen to the right.
