I think the player unpredictability things gets over egged a bit.

I mean essentially you have;

Run immediately
Fight
Spam SCBs/chaff then run or someone gets blown up

I'd agree that some players may be harder to deal with than AI - but a lot won't -especially those that don't practice combat.

Private group are not advertised and there is no in game directory or listing.
They also rely on one person to sit there and accept every request and for them to police it, to be sure all play by the same rules.
What is being asked for is one done by FD, added to the main menu for all to see - to make it easier and known for non-PvP players to find like minded people.

After all, PvPers are getting CQC added to the main menu, not hidden in a sub menu where you have to search it out.

This seems both sound and valid.
If for what ever reason Mobuis is unable to manage his group for a period of time or indefinitely, another would no doubt step up, but even clicking accept 11 thousand times seems a dauting task and sufficient to suggest a better way is needed.

If it takes 2 seconds per click that's 6 hours of accepting so far! :O

For me it means having the same "environmental rules" as the "copy" except for selected areas which are the only allowed differences in definition.

What's your understanding of "equality"? :)

Equal is defined as:
1.
being the same in quantity, size, degree, or value.

But to play devil's advocate, the word you are looking for is: balanced

You forgot

Chat or try to bargin
drop cargo
self destruct
Or use profanity

That's way more unpredictable than the npc list which is, fight back, or a small chance to drop cargo at less than 20% health.

Don't forget the impact on the hardware.
Farmville broke my old Logitech mouse and I didn't do anywhere near 11,000 clicks in the 2 weeks I played that game.

If Mobius were to retire from ED, who is buying the new hardware for the poor person who has to sit for hours on end breaking theirs.

I think unless FD were to reallocate the complete group to another willing player we would probably all disappear into solo mode. Really they need to recognise the amount of players in Mobius and instigate some tools to deal with large player groups now if they are not going to run an open group dedicated to PVE, in the same way the present open group has become devoted to PVP.
Originally, and restated by MB more than once on these forums, player on player combat was going to be rare and meaningful. It appears they were just, words because many players who have tried open have ended up in Mobius or gone solo to avoid the, I am going to gank you combaters, without any meaningful interaction.

I would love to operate in open and meet pirates who really wanted me to drop them some cargo (abandoned). But I am sorry that those who want that in open won't get it because of the PK'ers. I am not risking a 19 mil insurance bill plus 3mil loss of cargo because a wing of PK'ers want to part me and my Anaconda. I feel when that sort of thing happens it is often because of envy on the part of the PK.
The attitude of I don't want to own one of those, because I would have to grind like you did, and at the same time I am envious of you owning it, so I will deprive you of it so at least I have forced you to part with some of that cash you greedily amass and do not deserve, I think drives a lot of the PKers.

How can you say fighting NPC's which react in the same way every time boring!

Its dynamic and exciting. You clearly are doing it wrong!

Its best to do it in a wing!

I would also recommend maybe sitting in a CZ and see how many waves of the same ships you can beat before the excitement gets to much and you have to take a time out.

OH! Thanks for reminding me!

Sheesh. And all this time I've been RES hunting alone watching the Clippers porpoise and roll. The last time I did that for more than an hour my hands were shaking, my bottom was sore and I had to put on an icepack to cool off.

But in a group... with AI. WOW! Now it'll be four times the AI following their programmed routines!

YAY!

I think I'll just go hunt down a human player now to help calm my nerves. At least I know a couple things when I shoot them...

First, they are human.
Second, they are in a space ship.

What could go wrong? ;)

See this is the problem and it’s a shame that you don’t know enough about the game that you shy away from Open.

You will get attacked by space psychos as much as you will get pirated. Both are a rich and exciting experience!

If you were lucky enough to get attacked by myself or any other member of the fine Code pirating community, as long as you abandoned ( not jettisoned ) your cargo as per request.
You would be bid a hearty farewell with the gratitude of the Code and maybe a little joke about our pirate family.. But it would be rich and contenty.

But really if you are that rich that you have a conda, does it matter if you lose a few?

I mean what else do you have to save for?

Not that a correctly planned out trade conda would be easy prey for the apparently jealous PK community.

I am happy to teach you how not to lose to a player character, I will be in The New Caribbean later supplying content to anyone I find!

My Anaconda does!

That's like, your opinion, like you were told numerous times already.

It's not about the money, it's about s̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶e̶s̶s̶a̶g̶e̶ principles.

What you find fun ruins our fun. Some people do not like being pirated, it doesn't change when they are rich.

There is a difference between a script doing its job and a player who chose to attack you. At least for me.

I don't think there is. They both want your cargo and at the worst, want to hurt you.

Oh, sorry, there is one difference--one you can talk to, the other you cannot. Hey! That means your odds are better against the human! You can be nice to them and maybe they'll cut you a break.

NPCs don't want cargo and don't stop for cargo anymore - if they interdict you (and not system security) they will try to kill you.
It also does not matter what cargo you carry if any at all. They also don't pick on a ship type, NPCs will pull any ship, not just traders.
