When are we gonna get our free ship as promised?

I don't think it was a free ship, per se...though a quote from a newsletter would be good if someone has it
Rather, it is access to a ship. That ship, I think, is the Cobra Mk IV. Which would be kinda rude as the 'free' ship was supposed to go to those that participated in pre-release beta.

Have you read up on the content that will be released in 1.5?
This. 5 more ships are planned on top of the set of 25. Update 1.5 has already been announced to bring the total number of ships to 30, so that would include those extra 5 of which one we will get for free (don't expect a choice, the devs will make that decision, for otherwise everyone would just take the most expensive one out of the lot.).
No, the mark IV will NOT be free to anyone but is only available to buy to those that have the Horizons addon (Season 2).
Am willing to bet us beta backers will get the Condor for free
all of you that say you have to buy the ship in-game if you pre-order it (horizons) now are wrong. "For a limited time all existing Elite: Dangerous players will receive a £10 loyalty discount plus the exclusive Cobra Mark IV ship when ordering the Elite Dangerous: Horizons through the Frontier Store. Discount will be automatically applied at checkout."

Braben said himself you will have to buy it. That you would only have access to it.
From the very same page in the store: "and unlocking the exclusive ‘Cobra Mk IV’ in-game spacecraft."
Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen/heard several staff members writing/saying that it will just be available to buy in game, but only to owners of E

again, on the purchasing section it clearly sates you get the ship. Nobody cares about any other place in the website, the cobra deal is clearly in the "what you will receive when you purchase" section. It is written there and people will receive it as a extra gift. That simple.
