How is Mohrgan a narcissist? Maybe you should look up the definition of the word.
Mohrgan was just pointing out that you don't' want open to be a pure pvp environment yet you can't stop it because if someone attacks you whether you fight back or not.. it is pvp. Open is a pvp environment
I love using big words and seeing the confusion afterwards, wonder how many more wrong uses we will see?
This thread and its big brother wouldn't even be here if they just made an Open PvE mode to start with.
No, we don’t need to get rid of open to appease anyone because open is not a pure pvp mode! There is pve in open too and if you want pve, you can go to any of the modes, including open. You don’t ever have to get involved in pvp at all in open, if you dont want too! There is a risk it will happen but that risk is very low. If you want a group, all you need do is come to the forums and open a thread saying so. There is nothing stopping anyone from teaming up with other people in open mode either. All you need to do is open comms when you see another player.
Mohrgran told me that there was nothing I could do to stop open pve mode from entering the game. The comment implies that open mode is a given and I shouldn’t bother objecting to it. Well, this is a forum and Im entitled to my opinion whether anyone likes it or not! Frontier have the final say on the matter. They will decide, but I bought and paid for this game and I can and will voice my opinion. I don’t believe there is a need for another mode.

I'd I'm sorry but I disagree.. when in Open.. there is nothing stopping another commander from shooting me.. hence pvp.. it is a pure pvp mode (which by the way does not mean people have to shoot other, it is the inherent ability too in the mode) . With a PVE mode.. they get in trouble and kicked from the mode (hopefully) for non consensual pvp. I also find it interesting that you have no issue with people wanting pvp being able to go right into a mode, yet from all you described, those that want interaction and PVE (hence not solo) have to jump through hoops to find it.
No, Open is a mixed environment. PvE players are simply letting PvP players dominate their experience in open.
Excuses are nothing more than excuses. PvE players insisting that Open isn't PvE because they can encounter PvP situation there always reminds me of this extreme Vegan I knew once who had everything he could possibly eat on one side of a standard sheet of paper. Out of every food in the world he could possibly encounter, he only allowed himself to eat what was on that list and looked at anyone eating anything else with utter disgust.
You really only see this type of behavior in ED, everywhere else you have your typical vegetarians who take things as they come, treat others equally and won't turn down a Turkey sandwich if it's that or starve. A little cohabitation and tolerance would lead to a much more pleasant experience. I don't see how people can have such entrenched and embittered views over a video game.

Open (PvP) - Main Menu>Play
CQC (PvP) - Main Menu>Play
Mobius Group - Go into groups, search for Mobius, (make sure it is the right one as some have set up false Mobius names / groups to confuse people).
Send a join request and wait upto 24 hours for it to be accepted (providing Mobius is not on holiday or taken ill).
Once accepted you can goto Main Menu>Groups>Group Name>Play

I think I figured what mode needs a boost to rewards - the one with the most work to get into.
No one is asking for Open (PvP) to be removed, we are asking for an extra mode listing, Open (PvE) right along side the other options.
This is an extra not a replacement.
The idea of open becoming a PvP zone is, and has been a result of player migration. Nothing more, and there is little that anyone can do about it. I went on to explain how I saw/see the basic request in the OP.
That comment, was regarding PvP in open - try reading the quote he was responding to and read it in context.
To be honest. This is pathetic. I mean, #firstworldproblems. The need for an open PvE mode is not because some players are too lazy to send a request and make two more clicks. It is because players can't handle PvP and want to enjoy the game with other players but without PvP.
Now I am an active open player who does a lot of PvP. I don't mind getting destroyed, it just happens from time to time. Still, I try to provide solutions for the PvE players but if it is only this ... I am wasting my time.

What? What the hell are you talking about? Open is a PvP zone? Are we playing the same game? I've played open exclusively since launch and hardly see what you mention. Open is what you make of it. It is emergent gameplay. If you don't like how open is, join open and get others who think like you to join open and play it like you'd want it to be played.
If you don't like PvP players in open, hunt them down and kill them. That of course... requires PvP but, if you're so hamstrung over being stuck in solo/group, do something about it. Don't just loaf about moaning that open is ruined. Open is the ultimate sandbox. We, the players, have the ability to make it what we want. Get some buddes, concentrate in some systems and police them. Blow to bits anyone who comes around disrupting the harmony. That's the beauty of open. You aren't forced to do anything in it. But running away... that's just silly.

Please refrain from calling open a pvp murderer paradise because it absolutely is not. Most everyone in open is really quite civil.
True. Most PvE players play in Mobius. PvP players obviously don't. This leaves the PvP players and the PvE players seperated, creating the illusion that open is a PvP only mode.
However, it is true that open play is a mode full of "psychos" ... basically PvPers
I find it sad that we have such a division amongs the players :/

PvE players in here want a convenience and quality of life change, but ask for the same in regards to guilds for ALL players and they swear you're trying to murder their firstborn child and that it's nothing but a grand scheme to ruin the game forever and turn it into a murderous hive of scum and villainy.
It's great, really shows you why politics has turned into what it is. People just can't compromise anymore.
As far as I have understood this, he just pointed out that open is considered to be a PvP playerground since the PvE players don't play open, however, he was just saying what you have just mentioned. Open play is what you make out of it, still including the fact that it is PvP influenced.
