(Pics) Something amazing I have never seen before

Was travelling around today and needed to stop off at a station for repairs. Departing that system I decided to check out a ringed gas giant nearby. Was completely surprised to see the gas giant itself was nearly transparent !

Look carefully at the centre of the ring and you can make out the edges of the gas giant.
Has anyone ever seen such a thing...???

Wow, looks like the game loaded the atmosphere but not the base texture ... Is this a repeatable thing? i.e does it do that every time you go back there?

I logged out and back in again...and.........Gas giant back to normal, boo :( Glad I took some screen shots though as it's now unique!
Better report it as a bug 'sigh'. Lol.

David Blaine planet!

I think we should petition to keep some such planets in the game. Maybe like 1 in every million gas giants.. Those pics are stunning. I thought Neutron Star with asteroid ring at first when I saw them :p

Ha, I agree 1 in every million! And a free mug from frontier when they're discovered and scanned.

Umm......can I have mug now ?? :D

Very odd graphics bug! Reminds me of something I saw on my first exploration trip. I found a moon inside the rings of a gas giant. It was semi-transparent and clipped through the rings. I'll have to see if I can post a pic later (on my phone atm).

Excellent. Please do. This can be the bugged misfit galaxy picture thread. :D

Can't seem to edit my previous post, but here are the pics from the odd moon I mentioned above. It was orbiting very fast, too.

That moon would receive a real beating in real life. I did also see a pic someone posted of a planet partially 'in' a star.....toasty !
thanks for the share +1
