The sausage of stars? There's another one further to the right and up a bit, I was there last night. They are groups of real-world stars that have been imported into the game. Presumably they are areas of the sky that have been studied in more detail than most. The fact that the density is higher in those two areas indicates that FD have got the galaxy generation a little bit wrong
If they do look like pillars, and the nebula is in their center,
then you might have found the gate to atlantis
It was fabled to be hidden "past the pillars of heracles"...
Oh on the Scarab thing,
you recon the "Scarab" is a beetle, that cannot fly, yes?
Let it drift off into a terraformable water world? Makes whale sounds, maybe it wants water?
Most beetles can fly, including the particular species that was sacred to the ancient Egyptians.

Sorry but this has either been debunked OR going to give UA holders lots of things to RE-Test
I have watched several vids of ejecting the UA with cargo "Containers" of various types BUT They are "Containers" !!!!!!!
Have we tried "Blowing" open the containers next to a UA ? Painite, Vacuum space Krill, SAP 8and Alge would be first on my test list............
If the SAP 8 have something inside ! maybe it needs letting out !

If the story continues on after Horizons and we know that is for planetary landing on non atmosphere planets/moons... are the celestial body closest to where it's found, non atmospheric? Do the systems they are found in have anything in common like that?
Interesting question. Has someone tried engaging silent running with one on almost to the point of ship destruction? Maybe the ship heating up internally causes it to incubate or something?
That's where I got the io one which seemed to be the longest audio file. (though the link 'UA Images/Audio' seems to be currently broken for me).

Give it another go, I've been moving stuff away from my personal account to an ED specific one and broken a few bits.
The audio doesn't seem to autoplay, I think Google Drive making it download only due to it being 37Mb and it can't scan for viruses or soemthing.
i suggested that a couple of times too. it would be a neat indicator what to look for. Maybe along the routes that SS1 or the Antares took ?
(not sure how this would trigger anything in game, but at least it would give another hint where to look closer - the original community goal around SS1 disappearance was about exploration data in a 200ly radius.)
Is there a list somewhere of all the renamed planets in ED?
If so...
EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
Sleep is not allowed when there is SCIENCE to be done.
Problem is this 200ly radius seemed to be just story fluff, as systems further than 200ly were counted in for the CG.
