Maybe you need higher Elite rating?

That was one of the things I was thinking about yesterday, and at this point it wouldn't surprise me haha.

Can anyone who has found a UA so far post up what their rankings are for combat/trade/exploration? Kinda doubt it has anything to do with it, but at this point, I can't think of what else it could be...aside from the worst RNG I've ever had in a game, haha.

I can post my private conversion with the moderator from my inbox who asked me to confirm it with Edward Lewis if you want ? I mean it's not going to change anything, y'all don't believe me anyway or do you ?

/lurk off

SpaceTexan posted this exact thing word for word (I'll source it later)

/lurk on

Perhaps you don't know but one UA was sold in Leonard Nimoy's "for the sake of whales".
Nothing happened.

So one then? Maybe FD didn't expect what we've done here so put a simple "once 20 have been sold trigger this" rule in place? Truth is I don't know, but worth a try possibly?

It's probably as daft (daft yes, but great fun) as many of the theories but certainly not any dafter. ;)

I think CMDR Busey is the Chuck Norris of Elite - so his ranking is 'Busey' and is the only person with that rank.

Busey doesn't need fuel, he's got a constant swarm of triple elite pilots to feed his ship with theirs.

When Busey targets other ships, they stop dodging and apologise for being a moving target.

Spaceports rotate to match Busey's ship when he docks.

Can we get a thread for this do you think?

I need a bumper sticker for my ships:

"Gary Busey is my co-pilot" or "BUSEY TAKE THE WHEEL"

A silent CG. Filed under "Heartbreak".

I haven't read about this elsewhere, so I think it may be worth sharing here.

Last night I arrived at HIP 19147, which seemed to me as a perfect staging base for exploration sorties to the Pleiades and beyond. Docked at Priest Survey, I was curious to see what kind of missions one can get at the very frontier of the Human reach. I checked out the billboard and found two missions which I haven't seen before:

* "Confused(?) in the Outer Rim" - This is a curious "fact finding" mission that only requires the pilot to fly to the other station in the system, offering a 40,000 CR reward. The mission description suggests that HIP 19147 locals may have information relevant to the search for "the gate to other worlds". In order to get this mission, one needs Elite Explorer rating (which I sadly don't have).

* The other one - I cannot remember its name, something about "the wheel of time" - requires to fly in search of Dark Wheel convoys carrying SAP 8 Containers (offering a substantial reward of 300,000 CR for retrieving one of those things).

Has anyone seen these missions before? The content of the mission descriptions and the location are certainly conspicuous.

We have seen these before & tried analyzing them/using them during the last thread. Unfortunately, even carrying a UA while doing them doesn't seem to be the solution.

And that would have been very bad game design, as four moths ago, when the UA was added, lots of people didn't know what an UA was and the first thing to do with it would be just to sell it... for what we know 20 UA could have been sold already: only a 5% of the game players read this forum...

What a bad way to let a mystery been solved: by chance.

FD: "Hey CMDRs! 20 UAs been sold and mystery solved!"
Players: "EH?! What UA? What Mystery?"

Don't you think? ;)

But you are free to find one and sell it wherever you like... if you are not taken by the "my precious" disease, as well... :D

If that's the solution...

I mean aye in real life if I had important research items that could have world-changing effects, yeah I would go and sell them on the free market to ensure they get to the "right people". =(

But I suppose the SAP 8 missions do say...

uc

"I need more of these things if they want any real answers."

If the SAP 8s are indeed the UA pods, they get 12 at a time.

"knowing whether these things are human in origin would go a long way in helping us decipher them"

And well the UA would also confirm they are actually alien in origin (probably).

And I guess you could consider selling on the market as giving direct to the main faction?

I think my steps are sound:

1) Find the UA
2) record it as long as possible, see if something drops/new audio appears.
3) Invite people to the partaaay.
4) Make it back to Alioth (most difficult part, no AFM unit) and sell it to the Alliance. (They've got a Thargoid ship goddammit!)

I actually started grinding for the Alioth permit tonite. But because I want to sell Soontill Relics there, not UAs. I still think using a UA to search for a "hidden world" or dark world is the way to go, but where and how am still not sure. I think selling should be a last resort, will be very disappointed if that is the mechanism for the next step. Although the UA description does sort of hint at that.

Edit: I wonder if selling one at Ngurii (assuming BM) might lead to something based on the description? That is where a specialized collectors buy their purported alien artifacts after all, like the Relics.
