So that article talks a bunch about the full release in Q4 2016. That is the full game which includes the persistent universe.
I just want to play Squadron 42...wasn't the first episode due already? Do we have any timeline on that?

The last word was the first episode (or group of missions) of Squadron 42 would be released the end of this year. CIG have said more information will be given at the next gaming convention(PAX Prime), in about 2 weeks (Aug 28th-31st).

Awesome...I can't wait. I actually quite enjoy the stories that Chris has put together on his previous games. I'm sure this won't disappoint.
I agree. I really liked the Wing Commander stories.
Hopefully SQ42 can live up to the hype.

You might be mistaking PAX with CitizenCom that will take place in England in the Manchester Airport Hangar! 10th October. Squadron42 announcements will be held there!
Ya I think you are right. I was not sure and so I just looked up what the next game convention was. Also it was in my head because lots of people expect FD to show more of Horizons.
Privateer 1 and Wing Commander II/III are my favorites as far as story.
I know I'm in a small minority, but I really love StarLancer - and I still play it.

I haven't seen anything specific, but Foundry 42 (the studio working on SQ42) is located in Manchester, and apparently the entire studio (over 100 people), will be showing up at CitizenCon. This might mean something or it might mean nothing.

I know that they are located there. However, the statement was explicit, so it looked like it was supported by the facts. However, for the moment it is only possible to speculate about this.

They said at GamesCom that they'll show some Squadron 42 stuff at CitizenCon, as I remember it.

Personally I hope they bring some of the cast in, such as Mark Hamill(?), on the stage and let them answer some questions from the fans. That'd be nice.

It has been hinted several times in their shows and Chris Roberts himself said it at the Gamescom that there would be news related with Squadron42, that's why I wrote announcement's. Maybe the cast, maybe the game trailer we don't know for sure, I sure hope for the reunion of the old cast: Mark Hamill, Malcolm Mcdowell, John Rhys-Davies etc...
