Totally agree

I do hear Warren Buffet is making a really good effort at spending & giving it all away before he dies
Can I please have $1?
I still play first. I've run the same world for 20+ years. THAC0 is just very simple maths, I never understood why people hated it.
let me push this a little further off topic, Fallout the P&P version:

Used to run a Gamma world campaign too, great fun.
Isn't the gates foundation one of the largest charitable organisations in the world?.Bringing this back on topic-ish ...
What annoys me about people who have stupid amounts of money, like Bill Gates, if I contacted him and asked nicely if he'd give me a million dollars, an amount, while a lot of money to me, is to him, like a £1 (or a $1) to me, his reaction/reply to me would be "Why should I give you a million dollars?". Of course that's a very good reply, and he'd be very justified to ask that, but I mean, come on, he's got a stupid amount of money he'll never be able to spend (though I do hear Warren Buffet is making a really good effort at spending & giving it all away before he dies) and Bill's children & grandchildren & great-grandchildren will never be able to spend ... a million would be something he'd not even notice.
In a world where 5% have more money than the other 95%, hoarding it like that, really annoys me (and why I respect Warren Buffet more than Bill Gates, even though Warren won't give me a million dollars either).
EDIT: The really ironic thing is, if I did get a million dollars (or pound sterling), I wouldn't spend it either ... but I would spend the interest it'd make in the bank.
He's also gone on record saying that his kids won't be inheriting his wealth. I'm sure they won't starve but they won be instant billionaires.
Maybe it wasn't clear in my post, my apologies. I'll state it here very clearly ... I do not begrudge, have an issue with or otherwise criticise any person with more money than they need for holding onto any of it as they see fit, and that includes not giving it to me, or anyone else. I was simply stating a fact that if I, and I do mean me and not "I" as used to mean people in general, if I were to ask him for a million dollars he'd not give it to me, and I do believe I also stated he'd be right to do so (read my post again). To address the gripe about him not giving you a million,

So your point is really that you have no point - he has lots of money, wouldn't give you a million if you asked for it and is well within his rights to do so?He is in the process of giving billions to actual deserving causes, along with Buffet, so no need to be annoyed (which you did state in your post) that he wouldn't give you a million.
Curses! I rolled a seven, leaving me a total of eleven. But if we have to split up, I'm keeping the beach house to start that bacon sorority I always talked about. You can have the family anaconda.
He isn't a hoarder Al. Have a look at what his foundation does: http://www.gatesfoundation.org/Who-We-Are/General-Information/Foundation-Factsheet
I couldn't think of a better way to help others if I was in his shoes. This ginger-haired King Of Nerds is helping to save lives.
Yep ... I wouldn't say no to someone giving me a million (be honest, who would say no?), but that doesn't mean I deserve it. That it annoys me, isn't unreasonable.
I'd only say that I hope Steve Ballmer <spits> has taken a big hit too!
A cricket bat would serve admirably - and I know where I'd shove a stump!
I didn't do it! Nobody saw me do it! You can't prove anything!
