Help please - getting desperate

Recently able to afford a decent Asp :)

All kitted-out and ready to go back into the Black except ... I can't find a decent Fuel Scoop :(
I have been to over a dozen Stations (Industrial, High Tech) and the best I have found is an A2, which is rubbish.
I am currently in the HIP 293 12 System and will continue to potter around, but without a system to search for components (or indeed ships as the Asp took a while to find!) I could be a while yet.

PLEASE - can anyone help?

I go to 38 Mu Serpentis when needing specialized modules. Then again, that can be long ways from you -on cell and cant check distances from your current system.

Should be able to find it at one of the high tech stations within a jump or two of Lembava at a 15% discount. I found my A6 at Arexe but there is no discount there. @Kancro, considering he is setting out into the black I doubt any part of inhabited space could be considered "far". ;)

I found the A5 Fuel Scoop for my Python in Lembava. Not the main Coriollis station either...one of the smaller ones. I went to about 10 different High Tech systems before I came back to Lembava and tried the smaller stations....DoH!

True! I guess I meant to say that he probably has other options closer to his location. Its mere 100ly from my home system but could be 400 for him. Lol.

Morning Commanders - just as I clicked this forum yesterday we lost all power here for about 5 hours!
I have just now repaired my system so will investigate these responses.
Thank you all - Reps for you all.
Travel Safe ...

I will try when I next login. Repped - thank you.

Well, so far I have followed all the suggestions; the result - scraped paintwork on my new Asp  but NO PROGRESS on my fuel scoop. My report:

38 Mu Serpentis - sorry can't find it, or any synonyms I tried!
Lembava - ziltch at any of the stations (A2 best available!)
Wuru - as above!
Beta 1 Tucanae - sorry can't find it!
TZ Arietis - A2 only!

So, this is getting bl***y stupid. I have twice gone to stations without checking if they do outfitting and found they didn't. I have paid lots of bribes to keep the locals sweet, and burnt lots of fuel. Currently having a strong drink and a lie down!
Help, Please :S

Wow, this is bad luck!!!!!
My best bet for you is to filter for high tech with highest population and try everything. You eventually find that damned fuel scoop. In the meantime honk the horn in unknown systems and start to sell some data, pretending your expedition had to scan many in-bubble unknown systems before departing...

Yes., I have been thinking about that - to cover the cost of my fuel and bribes!

Stupid question, are you sure you're trying to buy a scoop using the right sized slot?
I buy all my equipment in maridal, vonarburg port, it's been so long i had to look up the spelling, I don't know if PP has messed the system up or anything though.

spent a couple of days in the nehet system (imperial space), i think the starport is called xeusen or something adoringly weird like that :) and as far as i can remember it had a ton of good stuff in outfitting.

Im at work so not sure on map distances etc but "Smoot Station" in the "Chona" System is where i kitted my Asp out and I know for a fact it sells the A1 Fuel Scoop (and most other sizes too).

Hope this helps you!

Thanks for the help, Commanders - reps to you all.

"... Stupid question, are you sure you're trying to buy a scoop using the right sized slot?"

Not a stupid question - just a stupid Pilot - me :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I swapped the scoop into a class 5 slot and Bingo! All sorted.

Can't believe I have been so thick. If the system would let me I would give mega-reps.

Ready to go now - will report back in a few weeks ...

I got suspicious when you were reporting multiple sightings of max size 2 scoops.
gl on your trip.

Tsim Binba (Kopal) has all fuel scoops E2 through A6. It may also have size 7 fuel scoops but it doesn't show them when shopping for a size 6 module.

I really recommend a class 6 scoop - a 6B will be much faster than anything of class 5, it's about 7 million, in case you find the 6A too expensive. When exploring a bigger scoop is way more important than anything else you might have in that c6 slot.

Completly agree. You gain time, that added jump after jump make some difference. Also the less time you spend in sun's coronae the less wear and tear. In long trips that doesn't make much difference since you evetually have a 0% wear and tear, but for exploring the neighborhood it can save you some credits in repairs. The 6B is totally worthy, the 6A has horrible gain/price ratio, but it can be denied it works like charm.
