Possibly the galmap now sucks a little less

I noticed these items in the 1.4 changelog:

- Local Cartographic Data Filters not working fixed
- Derive the number of visible stars from the galaxy map graphics setting
- Optimisations for star searches

I won't have a chance to log in and try the update for quite awhile, but I'm hopeful that some of my complaints about the galaxy map have been addressed!

if you mean radius of map shown while filter enabled - nope. still the same. in heavily populated area it's around 60ly and edges of galaxy bit more but it's hard to say
edit
just opened local system map. when you click from object to object the whole screen just jumps and you can't select the object which is under the information ribbon. bit sucks

They did.
Still can't search for neither STATUE OF LIBERTY SECTOR DL-Y D14 nor DL-Y D28, though - but I could find and fill out the other missing "sector" entries from the ELW list.

It does seem to improved a little, but only from ~55 LY in the bubble with 1.3 to ~70 LY in 1.4 if you have the galaxy map graphics setting at high (it's more like 55 LY with the setting at low). Looks a bit higher than the previous ~140 LY out on the edges of the galaxy and almost 20 LY at the core which is an improvement over the ~12 LY that was all I seemed to get there in 1.3.

Still some bugs then? Lame! :)

I can hunt those 2 down for you tonight (EDT). I've actually got coordinates for D28 listed in the entry for it and I figure D14 should be close by. Probably another A star.

it's still far from what was in 1.2. I hope they really come back to this. my bet is that they want to equalize console version with pc. but it's only my guessing. maybe that was their intention all along with nerfing filters

Yes.
Both "SECTOR" and "-0" systems are findable in 1.4beta :)

Finding "SECTOR"-systems works for me fine, too (except the STATUE OF LIBERTY SECTOR), but these "-0"-systems are still a problem?

Searching for a "-0"-system and there is a "-1"-system, it jumps not to the "-0"-system but to the "-1"-system. If there are more "-x"-systems (x>1) you have to jump through all of them until you reach the "-0"-system.

That is the same bug as in 1.3

Can anyone confirm by searching for following examples:

GRIA EOQ HR-T D4-0

TEQO TN-D B41-0

Chao Eurl LP-Z c13-0

None of those three work for me either. I've tried some of my '-0' systems and some of them don't work either, eg

Sphuedu HG-F D11-0

ANGOSK DL-P D5-0

MYEIA THAA RI-B D13-0

Thanks :)

I opened a thread in CQC BETA Bug Reporting Forum

Added your three systems to the list as examples.

Hope it helps, as it is really annoying, when you select a system like that as your next target about 1k LYs away, but want to make some detours in between.

I've noticed that route plotting in the core has suddenly - as in overnight - become much quicker, provided you keep it well under 1 Kylie. Currently in the middle of a 800-ish LY route in the core which the GalMap solved immediately; one at 999 LY started but wouldn't finish. When I'm on later I'll check how far the fast plotting goes.
