Powerplay Where is my accumulated powerplay points from shooting enemy ships?

Yesterday I killed alot of Patreus ships and accumulated about 1400 powerplay points that I was looking forward to turn in today. But now they are not showing in the left hand "transaction" tab. Does anyone has this happen? Where have they gone?

I think it's to do with the weekly cycle being updated on Thursday morning. I have a feeling it was at 7am and you may have lost them, but I'm no expert- only started PP on Monday myself.

The weekly tick over was this morning at 7am GMT. You needed to have handed them in before then i'm afraid.
If not, you lose them. :(

oh dear god.... how the hell was I to know that I lost them??? And how could I know it was to happen today? God damn FD, why doesn't the game tell me this? None of the information boxes in Powerplay in-game tells anything about this. OR it is really well hidden.

So is it always Thursday morning?

Regular forum member with a fascination for Power Play, and you didn't know? Missed the Galnet notice? As if..? Not to worry, 1.4 will give you a timely reminder in your inbox :)

It has been common knowlege in the forum for quite some time.
I lost a considerable ammount of merits one cycle, I found out around week 3 the same way you did
It really ticked me off also...Imagine losing as much but when it was 15 merits/kill. You won't forget next time.

That is some really bad argumentation. Also I'm not exactly fascinated by Powerplay, why do you assume this? Anyway information that powerpoints will be lost should definately be informed to the player somewhere in-game, as should information about date and time when this happens. But I guess this follows the trend of Elite Dangerous being really bad at relaying information to the player.

It really sucks to experience it. And no, I won't forget next time that's for sure.

.

Information is given in game. Every week they send warnings out on galnet. Perhaps there should be a personal message as well. Plus, it tells you on all the power play instructions in the manual.

Fantastic. I am in the same boat and just found out (through this thread) that I lost a little bit short of 1000 merits. Logged in to the game et voila, all gone :( :( Hunting down enemies and shooting them. Doing my job. I didnt know that the empire has such an obnoxious bureaucracy, that you if you dont turn in the proper paperwork at the proper place it's the same as if you didnt do anything.

Seriously, why is there no information about this in game with a FAT WARNING. Turn in or loose it! I am really upset. Why is this unlike bounties? This is a nothing but a big extended middle finger to casuals who want to try out power play.

The galnet is full of posts. This is not obvious but hidden. Why is there not information on the MERIT tab next to your number of collected merits : TURN IN WITHIN XX HOURS OR LOSE IT.

Sorry I am not buying that as an excuse not to inform the player in the games help sections. I haven't seen that info on Galnet. Then again I dont regularly check Galnet. Why would I check Galnet to learn this? I am generally not interested in the Galnet news. Game rules should be mentioned in the games help tips sections. In the Powerplay window in-game there is even a HELP button that explains stuff about Powerplay. It's a pretty long wall of text but the fact that you lose loosing Powerplay points and that it happens Thursday morning is not mentioned. All I am asking why the hell not? I maintain that this info should be relayed to the player in the games help and game rules sections, and not reserved to a Galnet post.

On the other hand if 1.4 introduces a mail with a warning before the weekly reset I think that is also a good solution.

Oh it's time? Better start my week 3 grind for that sweet Patreus plasma...

There is always a galnet news warning that the rollover is 1 day before or so.

Well - I think you've identified the problem and the action you need to take to resolve it.

I am generally not interested in the Galnet news.
Maybe you should get interested, given that Galnet exists to tell you what is going on in the game.

Game rules should be mentioned in the games help tips sections.
Why? When you can already find this info out via Galnet? Just look at Galnet and stop expecting all information to be handed to you.

TLDR - you lost your merits because you didn't bother to check what happened at the end of the weekly cycle. You've no one to blame but yourself, which is something you appear to have difficulty doing.

Yes, the game could do better at reminding players about this and especially in the PowerPlay screen's help sections.
Shame about your loss :(

However, I do recommend you pay attention to Galnet if you're involved in PowerPlay. Not only do you get a reminder about the 07:00 Thursday cycle tick, but you get lots of articles that detail the ongoing struggles and diplomacy between the powers. Many of these are written by players and they give you some narrative context that fleshes it out and makes it much more entertaining (in my opinion it does, anyway!)

Also look out for Cadoc's excellent PowerPlay summaries, which he posts every Friday to round up the week that just was :)

Of course I know now to check Galnet for info about Powerplay weekly reset and loss of Powerpoints; but I didn't know before did I? Which is the whole reason for my thread. I maintain that info like this should be relayed in the games help section, or perhaps in the powerpoints entry in the transactions window in the left hand panel. ED needs to be better at informing it's players, and not only concerning this particular issue. That is really not something you can blame it's players for.

The news is on Galnet is "Any pilots who operate for one of the powers must deliver their cargo or vouchers before this time to ensure their activities are registered". This is a) hidden in what I considered the "fluff" section of the game and b) not very clear. Registered does not mean it is lost- when you dont know how this is handled in game you can easily assume that it simply doesnt count this time. But you could still turn it in and then it would count next cycle. It does not state you lose it. Poorly done.

Well hidden plus a poor description. Sorry, this is poorly communicated at the wrong place (I should say vouchers decay 100% in the bounty/ voucher tab".

Well, I just doesn't find Galnet very interesting, that's my personal opinion and doesn't make Galnet bad in general; loads of other players obviously like it. I will probably check it out more from now on though just to not miss some important game information.

I do agree with your post. Adding the info more relevant places would ensure that other players won't have this same negative experience, and the fix should be relatively easy to implement. The first time you open the Powerplay window I think the game should pop up a dialog box offering to take you to the help window of Powerplay to ensure you have a chance to review important Powerplay information in game, and then update the information window to explain everything you need to know about powerplay, including the date and time for the weekly cycle and the fact that powerplay vouchers are lost.
