Zoo Tycoon You people just killing the series...

Really frontier you can't just sit here and use the same freakin reason why you can't release this game for PC how about you guys go and talk to microsoft menagers and tell them to think for one moment.
This franchise is one of the franchises that the PC GAMES community loved and still love all the time since 2001 and waited for the sequel for years and now you're coming and releasing it for consoles altough that strategy and tycoon games are for PC and not consoles, do you want to know why?
Halo wars for xbox was forgotten really quickly because it wasn't available for the PC startegy fans who is upset 'till today because they're waited for the moment that they would able to put their hands on a Halo RTS game but it was ONLY FOR XBOX 360 BAM
Command & Conquer was crap on xbox too because it was a poor try to convert it for the consoles...when do understand that console can't run that big games and suitable only for first/third person kind games...but my main point here is the question why you people frontier & microsoft can't take a PC only game that is one of the best PC Games ever created and make it an Xbox one/xbox 360 only...
The game isn't running good even on the glorious xbox one want to know why?everyone saw your zoo limit which we know why you frontier putted it there because one simple reason:THE FRANCHISE IS NOT FOR CONSOLES YOU FOOLS WHEN WILL YOU GET IT FOR GOD SAKE?!
And the funny thing that YOU CAN'T FIX IT! thats the reason you're actually not helping and answering your fans here because you can't lol.
Please discuss with microsoft on this because your game is wanted on PC and if you will not make it to PC it will simply DIE because the consoles wiggers will get tired of this...
And also one last question:Why did you put that massive building area knowing that only eighth of it will be used...
PLEASE MAKE IT FOR THE PC
BTW i'm not the only one:

Hi,

I've quoted Ashley who addressed this issue a little while back.

In this instance Microsoft as the publishers make decisions on which platforms games appear.

Frontier being the Developer makes the game to Microsoft's requirements.
It is however designed on Frontiers Cobra engine which allows the game to be ported over to various consoles or as you want PC.

The final decision really is down to Microsoft, If enough people request to Microsoft they want the game on PC who knows? If they see there is a large enough demand they could very well decide to release PC version.

Sorry I couldn't give you the news you'd like, but shouting at the devs who are instructed by the publishers is probably not the way to get a PC version.

Hi Chucha,

As the developer we just make the game I'm afraid, it isn't our decision what platforms it is launched on. Microsoft are the publishers and as such deal with promotion and distribution of the game, so if you want to see a PC version of the new Zoo Tycoon then they are the ones you need to ask.

If i won't talk to you so who i will?
there is no any microsoft wishes forum or something like that
atleast give to the xbox 360 antelopes...

Just buy xbox one or 360 lol. Your probably going to have to upgrade your computer to play anyhow. PC is a dinosaur not to mention it lags like crazy I can play all day long no lag what so ever.

Even if it was made for the PC, I'm sure there would also be a zoo limit. It wouldn't matter how much of a super computer you had.

!

How can I see you do not understand anything in this kind of field...
They put the limit because the xbox with all it hardware still can't run this game.
Example zoo tycoon 1 and 2 didn't have a zoo limit you could do everything you want without any limit except the walls (end of the map) even if i had a small little leptop!

Really? You didn't need to insult me. I was just saying that THIS Zoo Tycoon was made with a limit in mind. Therefore, it would not matter what kind of computer you had, they'd still have a limit in place.

Zt2 im so sick of hearing about zt2 lol. They had a zoo limit it was trying to fit all you could in their small maps without crashing the game or having it lag every second. Their is a limit because the graphics and rendering are top notch and guess what zero lag. Zt2 is a alright game and I understand its been modded but still its graphics arent anywhere close to this and the mod thing is deceiving also imo. Yeah some are talented but if you got the no how your still just shadowing a already exsisting platform. Bluefang did all the hard and lengthy time consuming job of coding the animal lol.

So I'll address a few of your issues here.

First off, both the Xbox One and the PS4 are more than capable of running RTS & simulation games currently on PC.

Yes previous PC ports weren't identical on the PS3 and Xbox 360 but for obvious reasons, it was limited to hardware....

The Xbox 360 was released in 2005 with....

Processor: XCPU triple-core at 3.2 GHz
Memory: 512 MB (= 1/2 GB) of GDDR3 VRAM at 700 MHz
Graphics: XGPU at 500 MHz, 10 MB of embedded DRAM

In comparison my old PC specs are (which still is running recent games at high settings.)

Processor: Intel E8400 Dual Core 3.2 GHz
Memory: 4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz
Graphics: ATI HD 4800 - 1GB GDDR5 memory, Core 750 MHz, Memory 900 MHz

With their limits (mostly ram and graphic cards) past consoles did a decent job of porting PC titles.

I actually still own C & C red alert for the xbox 360 & really enjoyed playing it. I never expected it to be the same as the pc and knew it never could be because of the 360's hardware, so it never really bothered me.

Now with your complaint that next gen consoles cannot run theses games....your way off, at least when it comes to specs.

Focusing just on Xbox One Specs.... (since the topic is Zoo Tycoon)

Processor: 8 Core AMD 1.75 GHz
Memory: 8GB DDR3 @ 2133MHz
Graphics: Clock: 853 MHz, Shader Cores: 768, Peak Throughput: 1.23 TFLOPS

Other than a slower Processor that's a lot better than my PC, which is still able to play most games on high settings.

Not to mention PC is also bogged down by antivirus and tons of other processes & services.

So yeah next gen consoles can easily run PC games now.

The only real issue is interface, making the game playable with a controller, and whether or not publishers figure out that console gamers like to have complex games as well & stop taking away the micro management & item placement like they did with zoo tycoon.

Having all the exhibits already pre made/cut outs and just throw them down is one of the biggest gripes i have other than the zoo limit. painting the ground textures, placing trees, rocks, fences and really making it YOUR zoo is what made the past series really fun & I'm surprised that wasn't your main topic to gripe about. If so I would totally agree that this stripped down version of Zoo Tycoon is a step backward for the series.

As far as the zoo limit, I'm guessing it'll be changed by the time DLC's come around. The map is obviously big for a reason. If they didn't increase the zoo limit, I don't think many people would buy anymore content if their zoo is already maxed.

And I really don't think the better graphics have much to do with the zoo limit either. The camera zoom out distance & angle are capped so you can't view very many exhibits and NPC's at once. And with the cut out nature of the exhibits, it forces them to be spaced out farther apart so you have much less in your field of view, which also helps with rendering.

So the core game seems to support a much larger zoo without causing too much drop in frame rate

It looks like they mainly have to optimize the game for the Xbox One & we will probably see the zoo limit removed.

Lastly, I don't see why you'd want this version Zoo Tycoon ported to PC. If it did happen they aren't going to change the core game mechanics to suit PC players.

This version is just a mere shadow of Zoo tycoon 1 & 2. The sheer freedom to customize and create your zoo is non existent in this version. Graphics is really the only thing this version has going for it. 1 and 2 are still really great games, I would stick with them for your ZT fix.

Even if they did port this version to PC and removed the zoo limit, I wouldn't expect it to run smooth even on a top of the line PC.

With thousands of different hardware configurations, I'd bet the Xbox One version will be finely tuned and optimized well before they get a majority of PC's to run it on the highest settings. Even then you still have to contend with graphic card drivers not working with certain games correctly and having to wait for them to release updates.

I've been enjoying the 360 version of the game immensely with no problems at all regarding the zoo limit or limited customization. Most likely cause I know console games will be different that's why I like them because they aren't the same as PC. People who complain play pc games all the time and try to recreate that with console games. Play Zoo Tycoon as a console game with the limitations in mind and you'll be surprised at how much fun it really can be. And if you really want to play a Zoo Tycoon game for PC just keep playing Zoo Tycoon 2 some more. It's still really fun. Even though I like the new one better.
