Thought CQC was not available in 1.3?
Tired of all that exciting and stressful PvP game play?
Think again.
As we move into the last 2 days of the Hutton Orbital mug challenge, and the final push towards that elusive next tier, it's time to introduce some friendly competition into the mix for all those large freighter commanders and intrepid scoopers out there.
Spare a thought for all those amazing commanders who have used their large ships to contribute to the CG without actually getting any contribution and help give them some fun...
Welcome to the inaugural Hutton Orbital Cargo Quaffing Championships
Manual Scooping Events
Individual Scoop - scoop 20T of cargo in the quickest time possible at Hutton Orbital.
Competitive Scoop - two commanders compete to pick up 20T between them - whoever scoops the most wins - held at Hutton Orbital.
Co-op Scoop - two commanders scoop 20T as fast as possible together.
Slalom Scoop - Sccop 20T of cargo from among other parked ships, avoiding any incidents. Commanders on site should organize into a suitably arduous arrangement.
Team Events
Large Freighter unload - how quickly can you get the cargo from your large freighter at Hutton Orbital, to having all cargo safely contributed to the Hutton Orbital CG?
Categories in this event. You will need to form a team of appropriate ships and equipment to carry out this challenge.
- T9
- Anaconda
- Orca
Rules (sort of - this is the bit that nobody will bother reading...)
- Limpets are not allowed in manual scooping events, but they are allowed in the team event.
- In the individual scoop you should stay in open mode at Hutton Orbital.
- In the team event you are permitted to SC away and establish a separate instance if you like, but you should stay in open mode.
- There is an element of honesty required in submissions due to instancing, but controversial times will be ruled out and video evidence or trusted witnesses will be needed for times that we previously considered impossible. Referees decision is final.
- When in the area make a declaration on local channel that you are going for a CQC time - other commanders can cheer you on and vouch for your times.
- Hutton defense will be conducting random scans of participants to make sure your cargo load and ship load-out is consistent with your claims.
- Team events - freighter ships should run with full unshielded cargo capacity. You should add a 5 second penalty for each 1T below maximum cargo space on your ship.
- Team events - apply a 10 second time penalty for each canister of cargo that arrives in the Hutton Terminal area but does not make it onto the station.
- Individual events - add a 5 second time penalty for each cargo destroyed, and for each collision with another ship in the area. (Exclusion - collisions between the participating ships in competitive scoop event
).
- You can deduct 10 seconds from your time for each cargo collected whilst the instance is under current and active attack by terrorists or pirates, up to a maximum of 1 minute reduction.
- Individual events - your time starts when the first cargo cannister is ejected from your your supplying ship (or first supplying ship if you use multiple). Your time ends when all cargo has been scooped and/or destroyed. However you must deliver the cargo to the CG for your times to count.
- Team events - your time starts when your large freighter arrives at 1LS out from Hutton. Your time ends when all your cargo is submitted to the CG or destroyed.
- You may want to switch off crime reporting on your ships in the individual event to avoid getting fined.
Prizes - your name will go on the roll of honour. If you are in America, your name will go on the roll of honor. We might find a proper prize if I can get Psykokow and Mike Snos to agree. Supplying ships will also go on the roll of honour.
If there are enough submissions, we will look to hold a public final of the individual events either on Wednesday night after the expected convoy arrives at Hutton, or on the day that the Rare is actually released into Hutton.
Please submit your times, teams, and commander names to this thread or by PM to me. Obviously if you submit to this thread you are giving permission to put your commander name on the forum for this event.
Also feel free to use this thread to organize into teams for this event.
If anyone with less than 20T capacity wants to participate, please let us know and we can introduce a smaller category for beginner ships.
