He could certainly try to have someone from Mobius meet him while both playing in Open and do the deed--that wouldn't be against the rules, right? I gather that the other person has to be somewhat near geographically, maybe? And of course be near each other in the virtual galaxy. And the bounty collector should be a commander of some means so he/she can sacrifice a Sidey in case of unfortunate unwanted attention by griefers.

Agreed. If the group allowed this you know it would only be a matter of time before someone playing the metagame would find a way to exploit it for the lulz. Best to not open that can of worms.
I'm not sure you'd even have to ask. Fly to Lave in a Sidewinder and leave your ship supercruising while you go have a cuppa. Chances are your bounty will be gone by the time you return.
That's actually a great idea. It could operate in a similar way to the Fuel Rats, as a group within a group. Send a request via the forum, go to a chosen location in Open and wait for the "DignitAsp" to turn up and assist you into your next incarnation.

According to record, 4 players have been removed from the group for rules violations since its inception. Possibly more, I am not always on the pulse of these things.
pretty much, but sometimes a genuine mistake has been made and things sort themselves out, but proof is required.

The nice round number of 15,000 might be an awfully tempting trigger point for the well-organized fifth column that is no doubt lurking and ready to play the metagame again. If it happened to coincide with the holidays, you could find yourself overwhelmed with complaints and having to continuously wield the ban-hammer when you'd rather be doing something more festive.

there is always that risk but if it was to happen it would slow process for them to perform.
It's a weatherable storm in that a very small percentage of players would be affected, a statistical blip that most members won't even notice until they're reading about it on the forums. But I've no doubt it's coming. Even if only 1% were sock puppets that's up to 150 players you'd have to investigate and possibly kick. And you can bet a fair few of those alts will have Commander names misleadingly close to those of other more innocent group members, just to confuse things (unless you're already checking for such things and keeping an eye out, in which case kudos for being proactive.)
I'm not trying to stir anything, just being depressingly frank. There are folks out there for whom the meta is the only game. Everything else is a means to an end, and the rapidly growing membership number is a double edged sword. The last "infiltration" was a couple of guys jerking off. If there's another it will be better organised. The only questions are how much better, and when?
since the group passed 1000 I've been expecting it, im sure there will be some group that will want to announce their presence in a big way when they decide to show themselves to the community.
