Star Wars Armada / Firestorm Armada?

Nearest I've ever got to a tabletop space ship game was an old interstellar conflict boardgame.
Mind you, there was a tabletop Asteroids machine in my local pub - does that count?

I've never been more tempted to post a double facepalm.

...sigh...

Fine. Yes, Asteroids in a pub counts.

I play a bit of Firestorm armada. I played the Star Wars Armada game once but found it quite laborious. I like Firestorm Armada and how it's developing a land based game along side it so you can play both together as campaigns. x-wing tabletop is good fun when kept small scale but I find that drags too when you get a lot of ships on the board.

I have been collecting the x-wing miniatures :) Haven't gone down the armada path yet as I'd like to not spend all my money on toys :p

Then I won't mention how pretty the new miniatures in the Dropfleet Commander kickstarter are.

Admittedly, I am very much into the space theme (no, duh?) and have always had a love for tabletop gaming, painting minis, etc., so this is right up my strada. Anybody else suitably enthralled?

Can't see the pics for that game.
Looks like the link is broken.
Here are some pics of my X-wing fleet :)
