Alpha players getting close up and landing on asteroids at the same time, demonstrating the animations of the landing gear and the cargo scoops.. headlights, thrusters and mining ships and much more.. discovered a bug in the landing gear animation.. notice they sometimes pop into view - (LOD-level of detail issue)

I'm really sorry.

I tried to watch your video - but between the huge credits and then warping effects I just had to close it before I could see anything of any value.

I appreciate the effort though.

Video processing after capturing included several experimental attempts at file size and format conversion - I recently downloaded new compressions tools and uploaded that video to this thread more than once, deleted it and tried again.. will do better on future when I get more time to work it out.

Animation feedback for the Landing gear bay doors..

Interesting video!

To my eye, the landing gear bay doors look a little light when they open and close. This is due to there being not enough spacing in the timing just as they open and just as they are about to close, it's too quick a transition.

The animator involved could do with feathering the curves a little more, add a couple of frames just as the doors start to open or are about to close. I suspect the z axis rotation curves are quite linear in the Graph editor (I presume you have FK driven doors rigged not IK here).

There is no expansion defined exactly, this was just one of those things you try because it is alpha and you want to know what interactions between objects have regarding physics.. There is an official expansion planned for "landing in general" on planets.. and/or "walking around" but this was not the "big expansion" you make it sound like.. just a stepping stone experiment in the same direction of the big one which would include getting out and seeing wildlife etc..

Did you notice any gravity, when landing on asteroid ?

It would be nice, if gravity could take place, when you are very near
of big mass.

I know there won't be gravity system in big scale, but still.

There was nothing noticeable when I tried it; but I wouldn't expect it at this point if at all.

Btw after a few more tries I think I will need landing gear front, top, back, and sides; if I'm to complete the trench run
