I'll look for the physical mag here, I don't want DRM on magazines as well like Zinio has ;)
If we're lucky, it should be here around April and will be equivalent of £9 :(

Yeah, I read it this morning as well, in bed on a Android 10.1 inch tablet. I'm chomping at the bit even more now, an itch I can't scratch, I guess the alpha will have to act as a soothing balm for now. :)

I just nabbed the last copy in our whsmith. The last time I bought a computer mag it had a demo cover CD on it. Must have been 15 years ago.

The Edge Article

Just finished reading The Edge feature on Elite Dangerous.

Having followed every twist and turn of the development progress as closely as my level of access allows, its easy to become a bit acclimatised to the various features this game is attempting to bring together, and miss the big picture.

However, seeing them all laid out in the article really does demonstrate how staggeringly impressive this project really is.

Hats off to FD for getting this far so smoothly, and can't wait to see more as the dev continues.

That sounds like great news! Sony seem to be working really hard to get lots of great games onto their systems, Elite would fit in really well there i reckon

I take it you are the griff who did the amazing oolite models?

if so, hats off to you!, great work.

I think it has always been the case that ED may come to console AFTER the PC and mac versions. (a regular on here - Beechlight i think his tag is- is convinced it will be within a few months of the PC version iirc). Personally I think this is not going to happen, but 18 months from now I would not be surprised to see it on console.

in 1 way the ps4 would be a better fit. Historically Sony have allowed cross platform play with PC users, MS have rarely allowed that, and when they did it was over GFWL, which wont exist in a few months time.

on the other hand FD already have experience working with MS on the xbox.

With luck it will come on both, I am fine with that so long as it diverts no time away from the main PC platform, and so long as it does not water it down to cater for the more limited console hardware.

Finally succumbed and ordered that issue...

And, yes, Griff's ships are wonderful. If only he were allowed to model a Wolf Mk II for Elite4...

I got it for the collectible nature. There is nowt there we do not already know, but it is a nice piece.

if in doubt and you have access to an ipad, you can get 3 free issues if you sign up, inc this one. (and you get animated front cover)

sooner or later some one will host scans some where i am sure if you dont have a spare 5er

Hey Griff, I also thought your takes on the classic elite ship shapes were really nice!

On the subject of EDGE, it has my monitor badger in it once again! I was really impressed by the tablet version, really slick design.
