Powerplay Been gone like, MONTHS what happened to aisling duval?

i mean, she was by no means a favorite or leading in score ever, but i come back to find out shes lost alot of systems and is the onyl one in deficit, and in deficit by ALOT

so what happened that made everyone apparently abandon her? lore reason people didnt like, just a FOTM change in those players, or did FD have an "event" that she "lost"?

huh, never payed much attention to the meta, the ssytems i was trying to help with expansions/etc always had plenty of "opposed" players trying to shoot my ass, didnt realize aisling was so unopposed/favored by FD, specially since when i was playing never saw her go higher than 4th place, but that was prolly i guess like weeks 4-7 or something, didnt touch powerplay much, honestly not touch ED much at all anymore

Oh wait, ops, sorry, I was talking about ALD.

What's currently going on with Aisling is caused by us (Kumo Crew) mostly.

Aisling did have a questionable turmoil controversy where FD intervened, but it's being investigated and FD seems to be serious in clarifying PP mechanics, so I'm going to keep my mouth shut on the issue until something happens.

If by "mindless" you mean incredibly organised and focussed, then... right on commander! :D

Seriously though, the ALD guys organising us "mindless" commanders deserve a little credit. Although you saying FD are bailing them out is probably a feather in their caps. Bit like the rare occasions when I get accused of cheating when playing an FPS, love that ;)

Come on Gluttonyfang, I thought you understood how Powerplay works? You really think merit grinders actually help ALD? All they do is over-fortify systems close to the capital or nominate systems for expansion that will only cost CC.
I know it feels cool to be the underdog, and hate on the power with the most supporters, but at least use arguments that make sense.

Because having free fortifications or unstoppable expansions is such a bad thing indeed.

This is why Hudson is now just behind your tail...they embraced the merit grinders to their plans. Take care of preparartions and fortifications that the grinders won't do and everything else will take care of itself.

But if the Empire can't do it, noone can.

Exactly. Which is why we're seeing comments like "you cannot maintain a power this size with a small player base", because it's clearly impossible for Mahon to maintain his top 3 ranking, because that's just a fluke. And it's clearly also impossible for him to maintain the #1 spot once ALD gets out of turmoil.

The subjects of the sentence are mindless merit grinders, I don't think people that organize the ALD faction are mindless merit grinders (Certainly hope not).

People, separate your emotion from your argument please, when you intentionally want to find everything offensive, I cannot stop you from interpreting everything to be offensive.

I'm not offended that you call me mindless (assuming you meant me), because if it wasn't for the guys and girls organising ALD I certainly would be a mindless merit grinder. Having a job and family means when I get some Elite time, I don't want to put in to pouring over statistics and possibilities. I go to the ALD reddit, pick my activity and they tell me where I'm needed. So, I am mindlessly playing PP, but guided by the excellent ALD organisation machine.

Last cycle I did some fortification runs using the trade&fortify guide on the ALD reddit, but I was finding that by Saturday afternoon even all the distant systems were already fortified. So I switched to undermining you guys as there was nothing else to do (concerning PP).

This is apparently what you are sick of. Fair enough, I guess I would also get a bit fed up of coming against such an effective PP machine :D

I am quite looking forward to how this will all develop. I'm hoping it's going to mean more open PvP, the more annoyed that you guys get.

I'm definitely not calling you out specifically.

Mindless merit grinders are people that don't care about their power and don't check the direction people that organize the faction offers.

So if you are following some sort of guide and want to see the power do well, you're not a mindless merit grinder.

A true mindless merit grinder goes after the closest system they can dump preparation commodities into regardless of its use, and expand into anything they find regardless of its effect on the power.

I'm sure no one's sick of people who actually dedicate their time into organizing a faction, since I'm one of those people so there's no reason to insult my own job.

A few different things happened.

A bug that caused her to lose a system not in Turmoil.
A Bug that caused her not to lose a system that was in Turmoil
A Bug that caused her to drop into Turmoil when she shouldn't have
A Bug that restricted her Prep systems to under 50CC

ALD went up to #1 in the standings, causing a mass exodus from other powers and to ALD in order to take advantage of the serious amount of money that could be earned from Bounty Hunting and Combat Bonds
