Astronomy / Space Lunar eclipse 28th Sept 2015

Total Lunar Eclipse (with supermoon) 28th Sept - UK should see the moon go red in the very silly hours in the morning - the Eastern USA gets to view it while most are awake (-:

Could make for some nice photos if the sky stays clear

edit: might make a good break from playing ED... as it won't be happening in game at this time.. (-;

I'm debating staying up to see it here in Denmark, making it even more silly hours, could probably go to bed now and catch it... decisions...decisions.

I understand completely.. I've made a decision with this one...

I'm still at work and won't be finished till 11pm here (UK), will have to set alarm to wake up in time to sit out in the garden with camera and a beer (-:
The next Lunar eclipse of this type is a long way off - i might not make the date in 2033 - missed the last one in the 80's - probably in a pub somewhere:eek:

another linky (not related to UK pubs)

Long night ahead - gotta be worth it if the weather's ok - hopefully get some snaps and put em' up here

I'll probably be up anyway, but they're forecasting cloud with some clear spells here.

Clouds & rain forecast here. :(

Will still set the alarm to check out how good the forecast is... (5:30 AM here when the eclipse is entering its deepest phase).

Well, if the weather permits then I'll take a look at it for sure. Sadly it is getting quite cloudy here, but, we'll see.

The penumbra phase begins at 00:12 UTC, between then and 1:30 well see the moon slowly getting blocked out. The moon won't be completely in the earths shadow until around 2:15 am UTC.

I want to see this, the skies are perfectly clear tonight here in Paris... But 4-5AM is either very late to stay up or very early to wake up, I'm on holiday but my GF wakes up at 7 to go to work, I don't want to ruin her night... Still, 2033, that's a long way off... Hm...

The moon is casting an eerily blue glow here, in Ireland, soon it'll pass the penumbral phase, which is where it enters the outer limits of earths shadow.
