I would guess horizons is going to go full release on 16th December, I would say sometime around 16 November to maybe as late as 30 November depending how long a beta they plan to run...

No doubt they will have some idea as to how many potential bugs we will find and they will need to possibly fix... and no doubt there will be more 'tweaks' after release same as with E

What atmosphere entry? The first phase of planetary landings will not include worlds with atmospheres....... apart from maybe an olde worlde atmosphere.

Crafting, looting, and characters creation aren't coming this year. They will come later. Remember "Horizons" is a full season of expansions.

My guess would be a 2 week beta starting end of November / early December.

I get the feeling there will be a lot of internal testing done in order to keep it all under secrecy for as long as possible.

im going to have an educated guess that beta will begin on the Monday 23/11/15 which marks the date of the premiere of elite dangerous, I also think that it will run for two weeks before a public stress test is available to all.
once stress test is over im putting my money on the 16/12/15 possibly 17/12/15 which will be the 1 year anniversary of Elite Dangerous.

I suspect a week or two after 1.4 releases. Horizons is a big jump, they're going to need plenty of time to test it.

Look at how long it's taking for the comparatively puny 1.4 beta

Twice as many ships coming in 1.5 over 1.4, plus planetary landings, etc...

Bobbleheads alone are going to take 3 weeks of stress testing.....

I'm hoping for beta in mid / late Novemeber. Presumably they will go for two or three weeks of beta / stress test at least as its a big double update.

Also keep an out for lots of No Man's Sky news coming this weekend from multiple state-side media appearances including Colbert. Looks like a release date could be coming too.
